摘要: A nozzle is provided for use during a process for cold-dynamic gas spraying a powder material onto a bore surface. In one embodiment, and by way of example only, the nozzle includes a tube and a coating. The tube is configured to direct the powder material to the bore surface and has an inner surface, an axial section, a radial section, and a bend. At least a portion of the inner surface of the axial section defines a converging/diverging flowpath, and the axial section and the radial section are disposed at a predetermined angle relative to one another and include the bend disposed therebetween. The coating is disposed on at least a portion of the tube inner surface and comprises a material to which the powder material does not adhere.

摘要: A technique for creating patterns of material deposited on a surface involves forming a self-assembled monolayer in a pattern on the surface and depositing, via chemical vapor deposition or via sol-gel processing, a material on the surface in a pattern complementary to the self-assembled monolayer pattern. The material can be a metal, metal oxide, or the like. The surface can be contoured, including trenches or holes, the trenches or holes remaining free of self-assembled monolayer while the remainder of the surface is coated. When exposed to deposition conditions, metal or metal oxide is deposited in the trenches or holes, and remaining portions of the article surface remain free of deposition. The technique finds particular use in creation of conductive metal pathways selectively within holes passing from one side of a substrate to another.

摘要: An implement depth control system includes a rotating link pivotally connected to the frame adjacent the depth control cylinder. A cylinder pin contacts and rotates the link when the implement is lowered toward the field operating position. One end of an adjustable length member is threaded through a turnbuckle mounted on the link and contacts an actuator to limit cylinder retraction and set operating depth. The opposite end of the member extends to an easily accessed location on the implement and includes a crank handle for turning the member and thereby adjusting the length between the turnbuckle and actuator to vary the depth setting. An indicator near the crank handle provides an accurate depth indication at any depth setting, and relative depth adjustments may be made quickly while the implement is in the lowered field working position.

摘要: Liquid phase sintering of a mixture comprising a major amount of BaTiO.sub.3 and a minor amount of Pb.sub.5 Ge.sub.3 O.sub.11 at a temperature of 750.degree.-1050.degree. C. provides a heterophasic ceramic body of high dielectric constant and strength, and low dissipation factor. Consequently, relatively inexpensive low melting point metals such as silver and copper can be utilized as electrodes in the fabrication of monolithic multi-layer ceramic capacitors.

摘要: A prognostic and health accuracy maintenance system and method for a system following on-site replacement of a component in the system is provided. A system characterization model of at least portions of the system is generated and embedded within a controller in the system. The system characterization model is adapted to receive a plurality of signals that are each representative of an operational parameter within the system and is responsive to each of the signals to generate simulation response data and determine system health based, at least in part, on the simulation response data. When a component within the system is replaced, a determination is made as to whether the replacement component exhibits one or more operational performance characteristics that differ from the component it replaced. If so, the embedded system characterization model is updated in-situ.

摘要: A system and method of monitoring oil consumption in a gas turbine engine system are provided. When the gas turbine engine is not running the reservoir oil level, reservoir oil temperature, and reservoir attitude are sensed. The current gas turbine engine system oil quantity is determined based on at least the sensed reservoir oil level, the sensed reservoir oil temperature, and the sensed reservoir attitude. When a predetermined event has occurred, an average gas turbine engine system oil quantity is automatically calculated. The gas turbine engine system oil consumption rate is determined from a plurality of the average oil quantities.

摘要: An actuator mounting assembly includes a cap, a rod, a spring mechanism, and a switch assembly. The cap is adapted to couple to an actuator. The rod extends through the cap and includes a first end adapted to extend through the actuator and a second end adapted to attach to a fixed location. The spring mechanism is disposed in the cap cavity, is compressible, and has a predetermined preload. The switch assembly is disposed in the cap and adapted to sense relative positioning between the rod and the cap and to provide signals based on the sensed relative positioning. When the rod and the cap are in a first relative position, the switch assembly provides a first signal to the actuator to allow the cap to move axially relative to the rod, but when in a second relative position, the switch assembly discontinues providing the first signal to the actuator.

摘要: A system and method of filtering lubricant in a lubricant supply system are provided. Lubricant from a lubricant source is directed into and through a coarse filter that is configured to remove, from the lubricant, particulate of at least a first dimension. A fraction of the lubricant discharged from the coarse filter is directed into and through a fine filter that is configured to remove, from the fraction of lubricant, particulate having at least a second dimension that is less than the first dimension. Lubricant discharged from the fine filter is directed back to the lubricant source.
