Abstract:
A flashlight with a rotatable lamp head is provided. The lamp head pivots about two cylindrical coaxial electrical connectors. The lamp head includes a reflector having a concave curved reflective surface and two lamp elements therein. A focusing ring on the lamp head moves the reflector in the lamp head for adjusting the focus of the light produced by the flashlight. The flashlight also includes a series of fluid-tight seals to insure that the flashlight is waterproof and a one-way flapper valve allows release of gases produced by the batteries and prevents fluid from entering the flashlight. A battery charger is also provided to recharge a battery pack for the flashlight.

A flashlight comprises a cylindrical housing, a solid state light source at the forward end thereof and a tail cap attached to the cylindrical housing at a rearward end thereof. A switch selectively connects the solid state light source and two or more batteries in the housing in circuit for causing the solid state light source to produce light.

A sports equipment storage rack may include a contained storage area and an upper shelf that is connected to a lower shelf by a plurality of risers and sockets. The upper shelf may include one or more hook/holder portions having at least one slot for resting elongate items and at least one hook for hanging items, and the lower shelf may include one or more retaining portions for securing the elongate items in the slots. The contained storage area is located between the upper and the lower shelf and is capable of storing large and numerous objects.

A flashlight comprises an electrically-conductive cylindrical housing having a reduced inner diameter portion, for example, a tapered portion, and a hole at a forward end thereof with a solid state light source projecting through the hole at the forward end thereof and a tail cap attached to the housing at a rearward end thereof. A switch in the tail cap selectively connects the solid state light source and at least one battery in the housing in circuit through the housing for causing the solid state light source to produce light. The light source makes electrical contact with the housing at a contact area at which an insulating coating has been removed. The housing of the flashlight is formed by forming a reduced inner diameter portion in a cylindrical housing tube having an insulating coating and removing the insulating coating from the inner surface of the reduced inner diameter portion of the housing to provide the contact area.

A flashlight is provided having a housing and a head. A molded member including a grip and an actuator button is molded into the housing as one piece to the housing of the flashlight to seal the flashlight and prevent infiltration of water, gases and small particles. Preferably, the materials of the housing and the molded member are selected of materials that form a chemical bond. Also preferably, the housing and molded member are formed by a two-step molding operation of a two-step molding machine. The actuator may be utilized to turn the flashlight on and off, is preferably located at the rear of the flashlight, and has a limited travel distance to preclude the actuator button from turning the flashlight on under certain conditions. In addition, the head of the flashlight is movable with respect to the housing to turn the flashlight continuously on and continuously off.

A hamper (10) includes a body portion (11) having a front wall (15), a rear wall (16) and two side walls (17, 18) all extending upwardly from a bottom surface (14) to form an open top. A cover portion (12) is pivotally mounted to the body portion (11) to close the open top. Wheels (21) are positioned at the bottom of the rear wall (16) to render the hamper (10) mobile. For such purpose, a handle assembly (13) is provided in the form of a U-shaped handle (33) having opposed branches (35) interconnected at one end by a grip area (34). The other end of the branches (35) are pivotally connected to the body portion (11). A bar (40) extends between the branches (35) and carries a pull tab (41) and a lock lug (42). The lock lug (42) is received in a slot (45) formed in the body portion (11) to hold the handle (33) in an upright position so that the hamper (10) can be transported on the wheels (21). If desired to pivot the handle (33) to a stowed position during periods of non-use, the pull tab (40) is merely flexed and the lock lug (42) comes out of the slot (45) so that the handle (33) can be rotated.
