Abstract:
An instrumented golf club system and methods are disclosed. A variety of golf swing parameters are measured by the instrumented golf club and wirelessly transmitted to a portable computer device. The portable computer device generates a user interface that displays the golf swing parameters against preferred golf swing parameters. The instrumented golf club system allows a golfer to receive feedback in real time while playing golf.
Abstract:
A skate boot is disclosed which comprises a foot element adapted to be mounted to a ground engaging skating implement and for receiving at least partially the foot of a skater, and an articulated cuff for encircling and supporting the ankle of a skater. The articulated cuff is partially inserted in the foot element and slidably coupled to the foot element to permit unrestrained limited pivotal motion of the articulated cuff relative to an axis coinciding approximately with the pivot axis of the skater's ankle.
Abstract:
A method of making a lasted skate boot having an upper for enclosing and supporting a human foot having an ankle, a plantar surface, a lateral side, a medial side, and toes. The method comprises (a) forming lateral and medial quarter panels by thermoforming a sheet of foam material such that at least one of the quarter panels comprises an inner surface shaped to substantially conform to one of the lateral and medial sides of the foot; (b) assembling to the quarter panels a toe box for enclosing the toes of the foot, an inner lining having an inner surface adapted to contact the foot in use, and a tongue extending upwardly and rearwardly from the toe box to form the upper; and (c) affixing to the upper an insole for facing the plantar surface of the foot.

Abstract:
A golf putter is disclosed that includes a shaft and a head secured to the shaft. The head includes a forward portion that defines a face, and the head includes a rear portion positioned rearward of the face. The rear portion may have the configuration of a ring structure. Whereas the forward portion is formed of a first material, the rear portion may be formed of a different material with greater density. In manufacturing the head, the rear portion may be formed and then placed within a mold having the shape of the entire head. Molten first material is then introduced into the mold to form the forward portion.
Abstract:
A skate boot for ice skate or in-line roller skate comprising an upper having portions thereof made of compressed foam material. In a preferred embodiment, the skate boot is constructed with two preformed quarter panels made of compressed foam material having wherein the inner surface of each panel is shaped to substantially conform to the anatomical shape of a corresponding side of the human foot. Such a construction provides a skate boot, which is comfortable, long lasting, and exhibits flexibility and support. Such a construction also provides added flexibility to the skate designers to vary the dynamic properties of the skate and also the ornamental features of the skate. A method of making such a skate boot is also disclosed.
Abstract:
An in-line skate wheel including a hub that positions and supports a bladder generally about the center line of the hub. The wheel hub comprises an inner surface forming a bore for receiving a wheel axle, an outer circumferential surface spaced from the inner surface and first and second edges. The hub also comprises a center line evenly spaced from the first and second edges of the outer surface. Contoured positioning tabs are located along the circumference of the outer surface and are alternately spaced on opposite sides of the center line to receive and retain the bladder therebetween in order to position it about the center line and support it during the use of the wheel.
