摘要: Example implementations relate to revenue generation based on introduction of revenue-generating features or inconvenience. In some implementations, the logarithmic convexity of a probability function is determined. The probability function may describe a probability that a user will continue to utilize the service based on a level of inconvenience or number of revenue-generating features introduced to the service. In some implementations, a number of periods for introducing the inconvenience or revenue-generating features may then be determined based on the log convexity of the probability function.

The system and method may comprise determining computational resource capacity characteristics from historical usage data relating to use of a heterogeneous inventory of computational resources, the computational resource capacity characteristics comprising a trace history representative of the availability of various components of the heterogeneous inventory of computational resources at various points in time. Additionally, embodiments of the present invention may comprise calculating a plurality of finishing times for a project by performing a plurality of simulation runs based on the computational resource capacity characteristics, wherein each of the plurality of simulation runs begins at a different time in the trace history. Further, embodiments of the present invention may comprise assembling the plurality of finishing times into a distribution, constructing a risk measure using the distribution, and facilitating selection of a portfolio for the project from the heterogeneous inventory of computational resources based on the risk measure and the plurality of finishing times.

摘要: Examples relate to performance of tasks within organizations. In example implementations, a computing device receives a user profile of a plurality of users in an organization. The device may receive a task from a first user in the organization including an action to be performed by one user on behalf of another. In response, the device may receive a plurality of bids from other users in the organization, where each bid specifies a number of credits to be exchanged between the first user and a second user for performance of the task. The device may receive a selection of a particular bid from the first user. Upon performance of the task, the device may exchange the specified number of credits between the first user and the second user.

摘要: A process can establish respective ratings for items in a list by determining respective measurements of performance of the items during each of a series of time windows. For each of the items and each time window, the process can adjust the rating of an item using multiple adjustments that are respectively associated with competing items in the list. Each of the adjustments may depend on the rating of the item, the rating of the competing item, and whether the measurement of performance of the item is higher than the measurement of the performance of the competing item.

摘要: A respective novelty value is ascertained for each of multiple user-selectable contents. Each of the novelty values represents a level of newness of the respective user-selectable content in relation to the other user-selectable contents. A respective novelty decay value is calculated for each of the user-selectable contents as a decreasing function of the respective novelty value. A prioritization order of the user-selectable contents in respective prioritized positions on a web page is determined based on the novelty decay values.
