Abstract:
A method and pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting the effect of glucocorticoids, particularly dexamethasone, which suppress growth hormone secretion, by administering ghrelin or a ghrelin analogue, for example, H-Inp-D-Bal-D-Trp-Phe-Apc-NH2 (SEQ ID NO:73) or other suitable ghrelin agonist, to counteract the catabolic effects of dexamethasone and other natural glucocorticoids.

Abstract:
Techniques and mechanisms relating to a basestation for a cellular communication system, and in particular to a method and a system for determining the location of the basestation, are disclosed. Methods are provided for use in a basestation of a mobile communications network, or in the network itself, for determining information about the position of the basestation itself, and/or for determining the position of mobile devices having a connection to the basestation. According to other aspects of the invention, there are provided basestations and network nodes for performing these methods.
Abstract:
A cellular basestation can select its own mobility parameters in order to achieve desirable effects in terms of the overall network performance. When a cellular basestation forms part of a group of such basestations on a single local area network, it can receive information from the other basestations in the group, for example relating to the loading on the other basestations, and can use this information in order to set mobility parameters. Where the basestation receives loading information from other basestations in the group, it can set mobility parameters so that a user equipment device becomes less likely to select a more highly loaded cell, and more likely to select a less highly loaded cell.

Abstract:
An access point has a connection to a wide area network, and is configured to allow a device to connect thereto, and includes an Application Programming Interface for allowing a remote application to connect to the access point over the wide area network, and to obtain information relating to the device connected to the access point. In particular, the access point is configured to allow a device to connect thereto over a wireless interface, and to provide bearer translation such that traffic over the wireless interface can be directed over the wide area network. The Application Programming Interface may then allow the application to obtain information relating to a connection status of a wireless device associated with the access point.
Abstract:
A basestation (50) in a mobile communications network is connected to the core network of the mobile communications network over a public wide area network. In the event of a handover between the basestation and another of the network nodes of the PLMW (120), handover information (130, 132, 134) is sent between the basestation and the core network over the public wide area network, for example embedded in a SIP message or in a UMA message.
Abstract:
Methods of operation of an access point are disclosed. These methods may involve authenticating a user equipment device in the access point. Access points configured for operating in accordance with the methods are also disclosed. Additionally, methods of operation of user equipment devices, and user equipment devices themselves configured for operating, in conjunction with the access points are disclosed. Still further, core network nodes configured to operate with the access points are disclosed.

Abstract:
A cellular basestation, for example a femtocell basestation, is able to configure its cel reselection parameters, in order to define a desired transition zone, in which cell reselections may take place. Specifically, the basestation detects broadcast cell reselection parameters of at least one neighbouring basestation, and adapts its own broadcast cell reselection parameters in response to the detected broadcast parameters of the neighbouring basestation.
