Abstract:
In an audio output terminal device, a buffer control unit adjusts the buffer size of a jitter buffer in accordance with the setting of a sound output mode instructed in an instruction receiving unit. If the instruction receiving unit acknowledges an instruction for setting an audio output mode that requires low delay in outputting sound, the buffer control unit reduces the buffer size of the jitter buffer. Further, the buffer control unit controls, in accordance with the instructed setting of the sound output mode, timing for allowing a media buffer to transmit one or more voice packets to the jitter buffer.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a graphic tactile cell for indicating a graphic pattern, in which the arrangement of the tactile surface can be enlarged easily. This graphic tactile cell includes tactile pins for indicating a graphic pattern by vertical movement, piezoelectric element segments which are bent upon application of a voltage to vertically drive the tactile pins, and a unit base for holding the tactile pins and the piezoelectric element segments. A plurality of cell units each including a unit number of tactile pins, corresponding piezoelectric element segments, and a unit base for holding the tactile pins and the piezoelectric element segments are coupled vertically and horizontally such that the tactile pins are arranged at an equal interval in vertical and horizontal directions. Proximal ends of the piezoelectric element segments are held by the unit base through plastically deformable adjusting members.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a braille cell comprising plural piezoelectric element reeds which are bent at the free ends thereof when DC voltage is added to them, a base body to which the piezoelectric element reeds are fixed at the base ends thereof through a print circuit board and which supports the piezoelectric element reeds piled like steps at a certain interval, and tactile pins provided corresponding to the free ends of the piezoelectric element reeds, wherein a tactile section for holding the tactile pins and provided with a detachably attaching means is detachably attached to the base body and wherein fixing plates are attached to both sides of the base body by means of their detachable attachment which is to define the piezoelectric element reeds in left and right directions of the base body.
Abstract:
A process for producing a camshaft with cams include the steps of forming a surface hardened layer in each of the cams by a remelting chilling treatment using high density energy (e.g., a TIG arc), characterized in that after the remelting chilling treatment, the camshaft is cooled by passing a cooling medium through a through hole formed longitudinally in the camshaft. As a result of the cooling, the neighboring untreated cam has a temperature of up to 250.degree. C. Elongation of the camshaft due to thermal expansion is so small that no melt-down end portion defects appear.
Abstract:
A video-image selection unit cyclically acquires at least two types of video images. A replacing mask determination unit selects, for each acquired video image, a mask pattern for masking a video image acquired by the video-image selection unit by replacing some pixels composing the video image with pixels of a single color such that said some pixels are spatially removed. Based on the mask pattern, the video-image replacing unit replaces said some pixels composing the video image with the pixels of a single color. A video-image output unit outputs the video image for which the replacement was performed. When selecting a mask pattern, the replacing mask determination unit selects a mask pattern that is different from a mask pattern used for the last video image, the mask pattern being different in the position of pixels not to be replaced with pixels of a single color.

Abstract:
A non-aqueous secondary electrochemical battery which comprises a complex oxide containing lithium for a cathode, a carbon material for an anode, and a mixed solvent for an electrolyte is disclosed. The mixed solvent is obtained by dissolving an inorganic salt in a mixture of a cyclic ester and a chain ester. The cyclic ester is selected from the group consisting of ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate, butylene carbonate, and .gamma.-butyrolactone. The chain ester is selected from the group consisting of diethyl carbonate, dimethyl carbonate, ethyl formate, methyl formate, ethyl acetate, methyl acetate, and dimethyl sulfoxide. In this way, a non-aqueous secondary electrochemical battery having improved cycle life capabilities, discharge performance, and low temperature performance can be obtained.

A non-aqueous secondary electrochemical battery which includes a complex oxide containing lithium for a cathode, carbon for an anode, and a mixed solvent for an electrolyte is disclosed. The mixed solvent is obtained by dissolving an inorganic salt in a mixture of a cyclic ester and an asymmetric chain carbonate. The cyclic ester is selected from the group consisting of ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate, butylene carbonate and .gamma.-butyrolactone. The asymmetric chain carbonate is selected from the group consisting of ethylmethyl carbonate, methylpropyl carbonate and ethylpropyl carbonate. In this way, a non-aqueous secondary electrochemical battery having an improved cycle life capability, discharge performance, and low temperature performance can be obtained.

Abstract:
A method of producing a cast iron camshaft including the steps of applying a high-density energy source, such as a TIG arc, a laser beam, and an electron beam over the entire sliding surface of a cam to melt the surface portion and cooling the cam by dissipating the localized heat through the camshaft itself so as to form a double structure hardened layer consisting of a chilled layer having a large amount of cementite and a hardened layer of martensite. This method omits the preheating of the camshaft prior to the high-density energy irradiation.
