Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes dispersing a plurality of particles in a solution to form a dispersion; and adding a stabilizing agent to the dispersion in an amount sufficient to cause the dispersion to exhibit one or more predetermined rheological properties, wherein the particles are characterized by a core-shell configuration, wherein the core-shell configuration includes a core formed from a first material and a shell formed from a second material, wherein the first material and the second material form a combustible composition and/or a reactive binary composition that is configured to complete a self-propagating reaction and/or a self-sustaining reaction upon initiation thereof. Corresponding materials, and methods of using such materials, are also disclosed.

Abstract: According to one aspect, a computer-implemented method of discovering processes for robotic process automation (RPA) includes: recording a plurality of event streams, each event stream corresponding to a human user interacting with a computing device to perform one or more tasks; concatenating the event streams; segmenting some or all of the concatenated event streams to generate one or more application traces performed by the user interacting with the computing device, each application trace corresponding to one of the one or more tasks performed by the user; clustering the traces according to a task type; identifying, from among some or all of the clustered traces, one or more candidate processes for robotic automation; prioritizing the candidate processes; and selecting at least one of the prioritized candidate processes for robotic automation. Corresponding systems and computer program products are also described.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, according to one embodiment, is for performing garbage collection. The computer-implemented method includes: causing pages in non-volatile memory that are due for garbage collection to be inspected, and causing certain ones of the pages in the non-volatile memory having valid data therein to be identified. Each of the pages of non-volatile memory includes multiple planes, and the valid data is included in one or more of the planes in the respective identified pages. Recirculation requests, that selectively exclude planes in the identified pages that do not include any of the valid data, are further sent to a recirculation pool.

Abstract: Resonant sensors for environmental health risk detection are disclosed. A mechanical member may include at least one meso-scale or micro-scale resonator disposed on a surface of the mechanical member. Abstract: A method comprises: installing the target software version on a first node of the storage appliance; restarting the first node of the storage appliance while also running the current software version on other nodes of the storage system; subsequent to said installing the target software version and said restarting of the first node, determining if all hosts of the storage system have discovered paths to volumes on the first node; responsive to determining that all hosts of the storage system have discovered paths to volumes on the first node, permitting the CCU of the nodes to continue to upgrade one of the other nodes of the storage system from the current software version to the target software version; and responsive to determining that not all hosts of the storage system have discovered paths to volumes on the first node, preventing the CCU of the nodes from continuing.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a heterostructure including a substrate of Group-III-nitride material, a source layer including a dopant positioned on a surface of the substrate, and a conductive cap layer positioned on the source layer. A method of electric field-enhanced impurity diffusion includes obtaining a heterostructure including a substrate of Group-III-nitride semiconductor material, a source layer including a dopant positioned directly on the substrate, and a conductive cap layer positioned above the source layer, and applying a thermal annealing treatment to the heterostructure. An electric field gradient is established within the source layer and the cap layer for causing diffusion of an element from the substrate to the cap layer, and for causing diffusion of the dopant from the source layer to a former location of the element in the substrate thereby changing a conductivity and/or magnetic characteristic of the substrate.

Abstract: Scintillating plastics resistant to crazing and fogging, methods of making and using the same are disclosed. The scintillating plastics include: one or more primary polymers present in an amount ranging from about 40 wt % to about 95 wt %; one or more secondary polymers present in an amount ranging from about 1 wt % to about 60 wt %; and one or more fluors present in an amount ranging from about 0.1 wt % to about 50 wt %. Methods of making such plastics include: creating a homogenous mixture of precursor materials including primary polymer, secondary polymer, and fluor in the amounts set forth above; and polymerizing the homogenous mixture. Methods of using such plastics include: exposing the scintillating plastic to one or more extreme environmental conditions for a predetermined amount of time without generating crazing or fogging within the scintillating plastic. Various additional features and specific embodiments of these inventive concepts are also disclosed.
