摘要: Apparatus and methods for providing multi-tier quasi-licensed spectrum wireless service via a common wireless access node such as a small-cell. In one embodiment, the quasi-licensed system utilizes multi-sector antennae to create antenna lobes adaptively according to parameters associated with different cell sectors, such as user traffic, random access requests, and/or interference. In one variant, when the user traffic or interference is determined to be very high in a particular sector, the sector is configured and activated based on the availability of low-noise spectrum. In another variant, when a new sector is created, the electrical power resources available for that sector are checked, and based on the amount of power available at that sector, either CBSD Category A or B status is allocated to that sector.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for selecting, purchasing and delivering content to users of a network so that the user has “virtual” ownership of and access to the content, thereby obviating the need for physical media (e.g., DVDs or CDs). In an exemplary embodiment, the network comprises a hybrid fiber coax (HFC) network, and on-demand (OD) sessions or broadcast modes are used to deliver the virtual content stored at the head-end (or hub site) to the requesting owner. The purchased content is associated with one or more users when stored, thereby providing the owner(s) unlimited access thereto, without the costs and effort associated with renting/purchasing and maintaining DVDs. The content may also comprise new release content, which would otherwise not be available over the network at that time but for the purchase and delivery mechanisms of the invention. Various other complementary features for enhancing the user's virtual ownership experience are also disclosed.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for control of data and content protection mechanisms across a network using a download delivery paradigm. In one embodiment, conditional access (CA), digital rights management (DRM), and trusted domain (TD) security policies are delivered, configured and enforced with respect to consumer premises equipment (CPE) within a cable television network. A trusted domain is established within the user's premises within which content access, distribution, and reproduction can be controlled remotely by the network operator. The content may be distributed to secure or non-secure “output” domains consistent with the security policies enforced by secure CA, DRM, and TD clients running within the trusted domain. Legacy and retail CPE models are also supported. A network security architecture comprising an authentication proxy (AP), provisioning system (MPS), and conditional access system (CAS) is also disclosed, which can interface with a trusted authority (TA) for cryptographic element management and CPE/user device authentication.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for testing a cable connection in order to determine whether the cable connection can adequately support delivery of one or more services delivered from a service provider infrastructure. In one embodiment, the methods and apparatus are adapted to detect RF signals on a coaxial cable connection or outlet within a premises, evaluate the signals, and determine the readiness status thereof based on the evaluation. In one variant, an algorithm is used for the evaluation of the RF signals, and is dependent on at least a geographical location of the cable outlet being tested. The algorithm evaluates a list of prospective RF channels for signal strength so as to correlate or exclude any signals present from one or more types of sources (e.g., OTA broadcasts, satellite service providers, etc.).

摘要: Methods and apparatus for delivery of packetized content (e.g., video, audio, data, etc.) over a content delivery network. In one embodiment, the content is packetized using an Internet Protocol (IP), and delivered by a service provider over both managed and unmanaged networks to subscribers of the provider, so as to provide delivery at any time, at any location, and via any designated user device. The delivered content may originate from the service provider, third-party content sources (e.g., networks or studios), the subscriber(s) themselves, or other sources including the Internet. Use of a common control and service functions within the network afford the ability to integrate or blend services together, thereby affording the service provider and subscriber new service and economic opportunities. Content delivery sessions may also be migrated from one device to another. A network-based user interface infrastructure, and gateway-based client-side architecture, are also disclosed.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for using characterized devices such as memories. In one embodiment, characterized memories are associated with a range of performances over a range of operational parameters. The characterized memories can be used in conjunction with a solution density function to optimize memory searching. In one exemplary embodiment, a cryptocurrency miner can utilize characterized memories to generate memory hard proof-of-work (POW). The results may be further validated against general compute memories; such that only valid solutions are broadcasted to the mining community. In one embodiment, the validation mechanism is implemented for a plurality of searching apparatus in parallel to provide a more distributed and efficient approach. Various other applications for characterized memories are also described in greater detail herein (e.g., blockchain, social media, machine learning, probabilistic applications and other error-tolerant applications).

摘要: In a further aspect, a method of operating a wireless access node connected to one or more wireless user devices is disclosed. In one embodiment, the wireless access node is connected to the one or more wireless user devices through a first frequency channel located in an unlicensed spectrum, and the wireless access node is a 3GPP NR gNB including an enhanced central unit (CUe) and/or at least one enhanced distributed unit (DUe) connected to the central unit. In one variant, the method includes: performing interference (e.g., radar) detection in the first frequency channel using the wireless access node; based on detection of interference, selecting at least one second frequency; and sending instructions to the one or more wireless user devices from the wireless access node, the instructions configured to make the one or more wireless user devices switch to the at least one second frequency. In one implementation, the at least one second frequency includes a plurality of different frequencies.

When the channel is not currently broadcast, query a storage apparatus to find a currently broadcast channel that has no current viewership, send, a request to a multicast network address translation (MNAT) router comprising a multicast address of the currently broadcast channel and an identifier of the requested channel to modify MNAT settings on the MNAT router and redirect the user to the multicast address, the multicast address associated with the requested channel.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for error modeling and correction in one or both of (i) a partially or fully implanted or non-implanted medicant delivery mechanism (such as a pump), and (ii) implanted physiologic parameter sensor. In one exemplary embodiment, the apparatus and methods employ a training mode of operation, whereby the apparatus conducts “machine learning” to model one or more errors (e.g., unmodeled variable system errors) associated with the medicant dose calculation process, and (ii) generation of a medicant delivery operational model (based at least in part on data collected/received in the training mode), which is applied to correct or compensate for the errors during normal operation of the sensor and pump system. This enhances accuracy of medicant delivery, such as over the lifetime of an implanted pump at a single implantation site, or during multiple relocations of a transcutaneously implanted pump), and enables “personalization” of the pump to each user.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for delivery of content in a packetized network. In one embodiment, content and/or services can be associated with an IP address. The IP address may be assigned to multiple server devices disposed at geographically diverse locations. Delivery caches may advertise, via a routing protocol, one or more addresses to clients of the network. Route selection may be configured based on one or more rules such as geographical proximity, available bandwidth, server availability, server load, delivery cost, client subscription level, licensing rules, and/or other metric. Delivery caches may be configured to control their availability and/or load through IP address withdrawals and announcements. When the “closest” delivery cache may become unavailable (e.g., it is not announcing the IP address for the content the client is trying to obtain, a route to the next “closest” available delivery cache may be utilized.
