Abstract:
A display is disclosed. The display includes a plurality of pixels configured to emit light. The display also includes a plurality of pixel control circuits that are each configured to regulate emission of light from a pixel. The pixel control circuits each include one or more two-terminal switching devices that include an organic semiconductor.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are described for routing data traffic in a network having a plurality of layers including physical, data link, and network layers. The data traffic is received and one of a plurality of routing options for the data traffic is selected with reference to information outside of the physical, data link, and network layers. The data traffic is then routed according to the selected routing option.
Abstract:
A vision-based operating system is provided in which a computer-based system accepts visual inputs and takes appropriate actions in a wide variety of environments. One environment is a security environment in which the vision-based operating system acquires an image of a face and determines, with an arbitrarily small probability of a false positive, whether the face is of a person who is authorized to enter the environment. The method employed may include acquiring a digital image for comparison to a reference image and identifying a group of pixels in the acquired image. A pixel group in the reference image that is the best match for the pixel group in the acquired image is selected. These steps are repeated for at least one more group of pixels. The relative locations of the selected pixel groups in the reference images and the pixel groups in the acquired image are compared, and the probability that the relative locations occurred randomly is determined.
Abstract:
A peripheral input device for controlling movements on a display screen. The peripheral input device includes a housing and an optical touch pad carried by the housing. The optical touch pad is configured to translate finger motion into movements on the display screen.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for implementing efficient multiplexers on a programmable chip using a lookup table. A load logic input line associated with a lookup table having limited input lines is used to augment the number of input lines that can be handled by a particular lookup table. Load logic and a lookup table having four input lines can be used to implement a 3:1 multiplexer having five input lines.
Abstract:
A low-k interconnect dielectric layer is strengthened by forming pillars of hardened material in the low-k film. An E-beam source is used to expose a plurality of pillar locations. The locations are exposed with a predetermined power and exposure time to convert the low-k film in the selected locations to pillars having higher hardness and strength than the surrounding portions of the low-k film.
Abstract:
A vibration isolating bushing including: an elastic body disposed in between and elastically connecting an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve surrounding the inner sleeve. The elastic body has two pairs of axial bores diametrically opposed to each other and axially extends therethrough between the inner and outer sleeves to be independent of each other, and is circumferentially divided in terms of stress transmission by the two pairs of axial bores into two pairs of segments diametrically opposed to each other. Two diametric lines, extending in directions in which the two pairs of axial bores are respectively opposed to each other, intersect obliquely so that the two pairs of segments are made different from each other in their circumferential lengths for differentiating spring characteristics of the bushing in two diametric directions in which said two pairs of segments are opposed to each other, respectively.
Abstract:
Defects in the contour of a target object is detected by obtaining an digital variable-density image of the contour and edges are extracted from the image of the contour so as to sequentially represent the contour. Their directions are measured and the direction of each edge is compared with those of other edges selected according to their distances from the edge under consideration. The differential is indicative of the presence or absence of an indentation or a protrusion in the contour, representing a defect.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an optical inspection system for inspecting the surface of a substrate. The optical inspection system includes a light source for emitting an incident light beam along an optical axis and a first set of optical elements arranged for separating the incident light beam into a plurality of light beams, directing the plurality of light beams to intersect with the surface of the substrate, and focusing the plurality of light beams to a plurality of scanning spots on the surface of the substrate. The inspection system further includes a light detector arrangement including individual light detectors that correspond to individual ones of a plurality of reflected or transmitted light beams caused by the intersection of the plurality of light beams with the surface of the substrate. The light detectors are arranged for sensing the light intensity of either the reflected or transmitted light.
Abstract:
Within a lithography process having a critical dimension, a method, system and structure for determining a focus deviation value relative to an ideal focus position said is disclosed. By projecting a series of lines or spots characterized by the constant pitch size which is greater than the projection devise optical resolution and incrementally increasing widths onto the surface of the photoactive material, wherein the width of at least one of the lines or sports is substantially the same as the critical dimension, and the widths of the other lines or spots are substantially equally distributed around the critical dimension, approximate focus and exposure dose deviation values may be determined.
