    摘要: A zero-insertion force connector for a multi-pin module is provided having a plurality of short, narrow resilient conductive contact members, each of which has a lengthwise opening therethrough of a diameter slightly greater than a module pin so as to each receive a module pin with substantially zero friction. One end of the contact is located in a plate having a plurality of openings therein each centered with respect to one of the pin positions and having a diameter somewhat larger than the contact so the contact can move therein to adjust for pin misalignment. An actuator plate is provided located adjacent to the module locating plate and connected with each of said contact members so as to provide in its actuated condition bending of said contact members so as to wipe and substantially circumferentially contact the module pin inserted in the end of the contact member within the module locating plate. Fan-out connection means is provided for making an electrical connection to the other end of each of the contacts.

An electrical switch for use at cryogenic temperatures has two contacts each of which comprises a surface of non-superconductive metal and a superconductor electrically connected to the surface, and switch-closing means for placing the surfaces in contact with one another under such pressure that substantially minimum contact resistance is provided between the surfaces. Switch blade 21 comprises two conductors 34, 35 each consisting of copper coated wires (36) of superconductive material such as niobium-zirconium embedded in a copper ribbon (37) with its outer face 34b, 35b plated with silver, gold, indium or tin, the two conductors 34, 35 placed together with the plated surfaces 34b, 35b outwardly and with a metal strengthener 45 between them for the operative part of their length. Switch block 22 comprises conductors 51, 52 substantially identical with conductors 34, 35, mounted in insulating blocks 53, 54 for sliding movement on rods 55, 56. Switch blade 21 is fixed to base 42 at 41 by blocks 43 and one end is raised or lowered by plunger 23. To close the switch, plunger 23 is pushed down to bring conductors 34, 35 into register with conductors 51, 52, then shaft 25 is rotated to actuate cams 27 and through pressure plates 28 force blocks 53 and 54 towards blade 21 and lock them in position. Blocks 53, 54 may be spring loaded to urge them away from blade 21 when in the unlocked position to eliminate or reduce sliding contact between the conductors when blade 21 is being raised or lowered. A graph is given of surface resistivity over contact pressure for the different surface materials at 4À2‹ K. In a modification only one conductor 34 or 35 and one conductor 51 or 52 may be provided, plunger 23 and shaft 25 may be actuated by a single operation and one or more conductors may be arranged to move in a direction normal to their surfaces. The switch is intended for use suspended with a superconducting coil (1) in liquid helium (10) to act as a shunt across the coil.

    摘要: The invention concerns a rack module for forming a support column, such as a rack, by stacking at least two rack modules, the rack module having at least one site for receiving a device for administering a medical product, this site comprising at least one plug for electric current supply to the administering device and for data transfer. It is also provided with an inlet connector and an outlet connector for connecting two successive modules to each other, power lines and data transfer lines connecting the inlet connector with the plug of the sites on the one hand side and with the outlet connector on the other hand side. In order to improve the connection between the rack modules in order to make its use easier, it is suggested according to the invention that the inlet connector or the outlet connector is movable between a stocking position and a connected position, the movable connector being called mobile connector and the other connector being called second connector, wherein, when a second module is placed over or under the module, the mobile connector in the connected position is in connection with the second connector of a second module placed over or under the module. This allows to stock in a safe position one of the connectors so that during the stocking and the handling of the module there is no risk for it to be damaged.

    摘要: A service provided assembled electric power cord adapter which has a rounded insulator body defining a heated shrink wrap enclosure. Assembled at the core of this shrink wrapped enclosure is an electric connector which features two extension ports one of which has a 360 degree rotating feature. Two identical pair of alloyed metal electric receptacles fits securely attached to this electric connector extension ports. A flow of positive and negative electric current is enabled to both when the service provider severs a barber clippers cord and solders clipper cords exposed wires to the exposed wires of the pair of metal electric receptacles. When the electric connector, which features the rotating extension port, is connected with the assembled electric receptacles, an electric path is formed through this cord adapter while giving this invented cord adapter a 360 degree rotating and pivoting advantage from its regular stock cord. This rotating and pivoting advantage prevents barber cords from tangling and twisting while in use.
