摘要: A fixed-high-power-switching microscope including a usual variable power optical system which can be switched to a fixed high power high resolution optical system, as necessary, is provided. The microscope includes a second optical axis for the fixed high power bypassing the variable power optical system. A prism (reflecting means) movable into and out of a first optical axis switches a viewing optical path from the first optical axis for the variable usual power to the second optical axis for the fixed high power, as necessary, providing a clear magnified image at high magnification and high resolution.

摘要: Provided is an optical receiving device which can achieve a wide dynamic range while keeping a constant extinction ratio against the changes in the input amplitude. A signal current of a light receiving element is converted to a signal voltage by an amplifier and the gain of the amplifier is regulated by a transistor. A DC voltage corresponding to the peak value of the signal current detected by a current detection circuit is outputted to a dummy current generating circuit. The resistance value of the transistor is controlled by a control voltage, which is outputted from an amplitude control circuit according to the difference between the DC voltage and a reference voltage, thereby to set the amplitude of the signal voltage converted by the amplifier to be invariable.

摘要: An optical assembly is provided that allows a user to view objects with normal perspective and scale under conditions of total darkness, in daylight, or other conditions limiting normal vision, or adverse weather conditions. The optical assembly includes a white light flashlight, with a filter cap mounted to the illuminating end of the flashlight. The filter cap permits infrared light in the appropriate range of 900 to 1200 nanometers to pass through. The optical assembly further includes a camera pack including a camera, and preferably including a transmitter. Said camera pack attached to the flashlight and in communication with a display mounted to a head gear worn by the user so that the screen of the display is directly in front of an eye of the user. The camera lens of the camera pack and the illuminating end of the flashlight are aligned along a single linear optical axis. The camera pack communicates with the display via a communication means when wireless communication is not preferred. The optical assembly includes a receiver coupled to the display when wireless communication is preferred, said receiver permits wireless transmission of images from the transmitter disposed within the camera pack. The receiver will also provide wireless communication between the receiver and a remote source equipped with a transmitter. In use, the object under surveillance is targeted by the illuminating light of the flashlight. A portion of the light is filtered by the filter cap, and a portion is passed through the filter cap to the object, the camera receives the light reflected off the object and generates a video signal to the display responsive to the received light, for which may be viewed by the human eye.

摘要: An optical system is capable of enhancing vision of low vision individuals using a simple adjustment mechanism that requires a minimum length of travel to effect a desired adjustment. First and second substantially perpendicular mirrors are mounted in a cluster for pivotable movement. An entrance mirror is pivoted in response to pivoting movement of the mirror cluster so as to ensure proper convergence when the object to be viewed is close to the objective lens or lenses in a binocular system. The system also includes an objective lens and an eyepiece lens and is readily mounted to a conventional eyeglasses frame.

摘要: An aberration-correcting optical relay for an optical system. The relay comprises front and rear converging optical units together with a correcting meniscus or two correcting meniscuses placed symmetrically relative to each other, the meniscus(es) having main faces that are substantially concentric, and preferably exactly concentric, the two converging optical units being placed on a common axis and the correcting meniscus(es) being placed on said axis between the two converging optical units. The front converging optical unit situated upstream from the correcting meniscus(es) is placed in such a manner that the distance from an image point of the portion of the optical system upstream from the optical relay to the front converging optical unit is equal to the focal length of the front converging optical unit, said unit thus transforming a beam coming from said image point into a parallel beam.

摘要: A laser beam delivery system for supplying a laser beam to a computer generated hologram which shapes and divides the supplied laser beam into a plurality of pseudo flat top laser beams. The plurality of pseudo flat top laser beams are then passed through collimated optics which alter the beams so that the beams are conveyed along the optical axis in a parallel manner. The plurality of collimated laser beams then passes through a converging mechanism which facilitates converging of the plurality of separated collimated laser beams through a clear aperture of a mirror of a first repeat positioning device so that all of the light is received by the repeat positioning device and appropriately reflected thereby to a second mirror of a second repeat positioning device and then to a rear surface of an F-Theta lens. The F-Theta lens focuses the plurality of separated collimated laser beams at the object to be processed. The converging mechanism facilitates converging of all of the supplied light so that substantially all of the supplied light passes through the clear aperture(s) of the repeat positioning device(s).

摘要: A method and apparatus for control of optical trap arrays and formation of particle arrays using light that is in the visible portion of the spectrum. The method and apparatus provides a laser and a time variable diffractive optical element to allow dynamic control of optical trap arrays and consequent control of particle arrays and also the ability to manipulate singular objects using a plurality of optical traps. By avoiding wavelengths associated with strong absorption in the underlying material, creating optical traps with a continuous-wave laser, optimizing the efficiency of individual traps, and trapping extended samples at multiple points, the rate of deleterious nonlinear optical processes can be minimized.
