In an engraver of an electrical engraving machine for engraving pressure cylinders, the engraver comprises a rotating system which oscillates around small angles. The engraver further comprises a drive system for the rotating system and of an engraving element that is arranged at the rotating system. The engraving element is used to grave cup-shapes in the pressure cylinder by carrying out a lifting movement directed at the pressure cylinder. The clearance angle of the engraver is arranged in a tilt in the direction of the engraving of the cup-shapes in relation to a line of reference which extends vertically to the generated surface of the pressure cylinder. The clearance angle is thus enlarged. Especially buckled cup-shapes can be engraved in the correct tone value using the tilted arrangement of the engraving element.

An inside diameter machining method for machining inside a workpiece uses a turning tool utilized within a main body in the shape of a bar with a hook-shaped top end portion which has a cutting portion. When the machining diameter of the portion to be machined inside the workpiece is bigger than the workpiece's tool insertion hole, the workpiece interferes with the tool when the turning tool's top end portion is moved linearly. To overcome the interference, moving the turning tool's top end portion in two axial directions orthogonal to each other and in a rotational direction with a third axial direction orthogonal to the other two axial directions as its center permits the top end portion to be inserted into the tool insertion hole. The turning tool's cutting portion is then positioned at the portion to be machined inside the workpiece. Turning machining subsequently can be commenced.

The present invention solves the problems encountered by conventional machine tool devices when metals, plastics, composites or other materials are cut. The Sizing Tool is capable of precisely and permanently changing the shape of a tubular workpiece because, unlike conventional static spreaders, it repeatedly bends the workpiece back and forth many times to achieve the desired deformation. The Sizing Tool includes a set of revolving rollers (14) supported by bearings (13) and a mounting plate (12). The roller (14) is capable of engaging either the inside or outside surface of a hollow metal tube (10). The rollers (14) exert force on the end of the tube (10) having a circular cross-section in a configuration that resembles a polygon inscribed in a circle. As the rollers (14) are moved toward the workpiece (10), the workpiece is gradually deformed as it moves farther into the inclined surface presented by each roller (14). A contour head apparatus for effecting a radial adjustment of a cutting edge tool is disclosed. The contouring head apparatus is adapted for use with a numerically controlled spindle and sleeve, the sleeve capable of rotation about a first axis and the spindle capable of longitudinal movement along the first axis. A housing is rotatable about the first axis when driven by the sleeve and is held longitudinally stationary with respect to the first axis. The housing has a longitudinal aperture therethrough coaxial with the first axis allowing access to an outer end of the spindle. A yoke is disposed within the housing and pivotally connected to the housing for pivotal movement between first and second end limits of travel. The yoke is connected to the spindle at a first end and has a second end driven in rotation about the pivotal connection in response to longitudinal movement of the spindle. A slide is connected to a second end of the yoke and is supported by the housing for movement radially with respect to the first axis in response to longitudinal movement of the spindle, while the housing, slide and yoke are rotated about the first axis during rotation of the sleeve. The slide supports the cutting edge tool, preferably through a tool supporting pot.

The cutter is directed along a curve of the inner edges of the bore of the workpiece by a cam on the frame engaged by a follower on the cutter spindle. A three-dimensional curve of the inner edges can be deburred precisely.
