Abstract:
When a transport stream is transmitted between each unit connected through an interface, if any data which is not permitted to be transmitted on a partial transport stream is transmitted, information of this section is transmitted as a private section or a user private. As a result, information of a section of an EIT can be transmitted from for example a digital satellite broadcast tuner to a personal computer and an original program schedule list can be created on the personal computer.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the domain of video equipment. It concerns more specifically a transmission device able to transmit packets, said device comprising the means to extract image ticks from a synchronisation signal, the means to initialise an image counter from said image ticks, the means to initialise a CPT— PCR counter every “m” passage through zero of the image counter, CPT_PCR producing counting ramps CSE_PCR with a range M, the means to sample the counting ramps CSE_PCR every Tech period, where Tech is from a time base synchronised on all the stations of said network, and the means to transmit packets comprising a PCRe sample of the CSE_PCR counting ramp. According to the invention, it also comprises the means to insert in the packet:—an Num index identifying the CSE_PCR counting ramp from which the PCRe sample is realised, and—a time label Datejnit indicating a CSE_PCR counting ramp timestamp passage through a reference value PCR_REF comprised between 0 and M-1.
Abstract:
A user interface for an interactive information distribution system comprising a graphics region, a video region and a mask/reveal layer. The user interface is generated in a head end of the system as a digital bitstream and transmitted to subscriber equipment for display. Operation of the user interface is facilitated by functions on both a local level with the subscriber equipment and on a system level within the head end. One embodiment of the user interface is an interactive program guide.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a system and method for providing digital multimedia broadcasting confinement service. The system includes: a relay center side system, which is adopted to the relay center, according to the relay center side packet identification description (PID) key, for modifying the PID of transport stream and generating the distorted program specific information (PSI); and a terminal side system, which is adopted to the DMB terminal, according to the terminal side PID key, for recovering the distorted PSI of the transport stream received from the relay center and decoding it. The method includes the steps of: identifying whether the actual PID of the TS is consistent when the TS is demultiplexed by audio/video PID acquired through the program map table (PMT) analysis of the TS; generating a preset alarm signal; modifying the PID of the audio/video data in the PMT according to the terminal side PID; and demultiplexing the TS according to the modified PID value.
Abstract:
A digital broadcast receiver and broadcast data display method enabling simultaneous display of multi-channel visual images are disclosed. The broadcast data display method includes receiving digital broadcast data on a plurality of channels; simultaneously outputting on a single screen real-time broadcast data of a selected channel and still images of the remaining channels; and periodically updating the still images of the remaining channels. Thereby, up-to-date multi-channel visual images are simultaneously output. Hence, the user can easily perform channel selection and channel switching.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are capable of masking a signal loss condition. According to an exemplary embodiment, the method includes steps of receiving a signal, detecting a period of loss of the signal, and enabling a received portion of the signal to be reproduced continuously and causing a portion of the signal lost during the period to be skipped.
Abstract:
There is provided a digital broadcast receiver that can readily cope with a change in a time lag between simultaneous broadcasts and opening of a new broadcast station and that enables smooth switching between the simultaneous broadcasts without addition of devices entailing performance of enormous amounts of processing. A characteristic showing that a coding rate increases when a large difference arises between a current frame and a preceding frame of a video signal is utilized for MPEG2 and MPEG4-AVC standards employed as schemes for coding a video signal in a ground digital broadcast. A per-frame coding rate of first broadcast coded video data and a per-frame coding rate of second broadcast coded video data are ascertained. A lag between an output time of the first broadcast and an output time of the second broadcast is detected from time shifts in the thus-ascertained coding rates and a lag between internal clock signals. The output time of the first broadcast video frame and the output time of the first broadcast audio frame are delayed by an amount corresponding to the output time lag. Either the first broadcast or the second broadcast is selected according to predetermined conditions, and the thus-selected broadcast is displayed on a display.
Abstract:
An network server includes a receiving unit that receives content from a client apparatus connected via a network, a conversion determining unit that obtains metadata of the content to determine whether to convert the media format of the content according to the metadata, and selects the media format after conversion according to the metadata, and a format converting unit that converts the media format of the content into the media format selected by the conversion determining unit.
Abstract:
A transport stream (TS) demultiplexer has a TS input switch unit and an output switch unit, whereby inputs and outputs can be selected as desired, external output can be easily changed by changing selected information of the TS input switch unit and the output switch unit, without changing inputs. Therefore, the TS demultiplexer receives a plurality of TSs such as MPEG-2 TSs and DSS TSs, and can selectively demultiplex the TSs, and particularly, the TS demultiplexer can store the TSs in a storage medium such as a hard disc drive, or it can easily transmit the TS data over an IEEE1394 bus or a PCI bus.
Abstract:
In certain embodiments, a selective encryption encoder has a packet identifier that identifies packets of a specified packet type. The specified packet type includes packets carrying data representing a video slice wherein the video slice contains a larger amount of data than a threshold amount of data. A packet duplicator duplicates the identified packets to produce first and second sets of the identified packets. Packets are sent and received to and from a primary encryption encoder to encrypt the first set of identified packets under a first encryption method. A secondary encrypter encrypts the second set of identified packets under a second encryption method. This abstract should not be considered limiting since embodiments consistent with the present invention may involve more, different or fewer elements.
