Abstract: RF power detector employing an envelope amplifier circuit and a current mirror circuit. The output of the current mirror circuit supplies a bias voltage for biasing the output of the envelope amplifier circuit. Furthermore, the output of the envelope amplifier circuit is fed back to the output of the current mirror circuit so as to reduce the magnitude of the bias signal according to the magnitude of the amplified RF signal envelope. In this manner, the overall gain of the RF power detector can be selectively reduced, resulting in an RF power detector having a more linearized dynamic range and greater ability to compensate for variation in gain caused by temperature.

Abstract: A power meter having a sample and hold circuit, a trigger signal generator, and a data processor is disclosed. The sample and hold circuit receives an input signal, V(t), and generates a measurement of that signal at a time determined by a trigger signal that is generated by the trigger signal generator. The trigger signal generator generates a plurality of trigger signals over a sampling time period thereby causing the sample and hold circuit to generate the measurements at a plurality of non-evenly spaced times during the sampling time period. The data processor processes the received measurements to provide a measurement of a desired signal property such as mean power or peak power to within a predetermined error.

Abstract: An integrated detector circuit (20) includes first and second gain stages (GS1, GS2). The first gain stage has an input (82) that monitors a high frequency signal (VRFDET) for routing a first detection current (IS1) to a node (60). The second gain stage includes a first current source (PF1) that supplies a bias current (IMAX1) indicative of a predefined amplitude of the high frequency signal. Abstract: A signal sensor is provided that includes a substrate, an input port formed on the substrate as a substantially linear conductive element, and a sensing port formed on the substrate adjacent to the input port. The sensing port is influenced by magnetic flux emanating from the input port such that a sense signal is generated in the sensing port. The sensing port can have as little as one sensing loop disposed on one side of the input port, but preferably includes at least one sensing loop on each side of the input port. The sensing loops on each side of the input port have an opposite sense of turn so that the sense signals in each loop are additive. A cross-over connector provides an electrical connection between the loops of the sensing port on opposite sides of the input port. The cross-over connector can be an underpass crossing below the input port or an overpass crossing above the input port. If desired, multiple sensing loops can be formed on each side of the input port. These sensing loops may be formed at the same fabrication level or may be formed on multiple fabrication levels. In the latter case, multi-level interconnects provide electrical connections between the sensing loops on each level.

Abstract: A support for a waveguide system includes a support body, a receiver formed at one side portion of the support body, a control plates selectively coupled to the receiver and adapted to control the coupling condition between the support body and a magnetron separably coupled to the support body to achieve a matching condition of impedance, thereby capable of a measurement of the characteristic of one of two kinds of magnetrons with different antenna dimensions, and a closing plate coupled to the receiver when the control plate is not coupled to the receiver and the characteristic of the other kind of magnetron is to be measured and adapted to close the receiver. The support enables measurements of the characteristics of a plurality of magnetrons having different dimensions. The support also eliminates the work of replacing the waveguide system every time when different models of magnetrons are measured.
