摘要： A cylinder and piston unit, which can be utilized to select the gears of and/or to shift a change-speed transmission in the power train of a motor vehicle, has a housing provided with two internal chambers and internal stops and receiving a reciprocable assembly of three pistons including two interconnected pistons each adjacent a different one of the two chambers and a hollow cylindrical piston which surrounds one of the two interconnected pistons. The chambers can receive a pressurized hydraulic or pneumatic fluid jointly or independently of each other to thus effect movements of the interconnected pistons (with and/or relative to the holow piston) against selected stops and to thus select the positions of the interconnected pistons. Such interconnected pistons can be utilized to select the ratio of the change-speed transmission. The chambers can confine springs which assist or oppose the action of fluid upon the surfaces of the interconnected pistons.

摘要： A self-centering motor (16) includes a piston (130) which is disposed in a housing (112) and is movable in opposite directions from a centered condition. A pair of centering members (160 and 162) are disposed in the housing (112) to effect movement between the piston (130) and the housing toward the centered condition upon the occurrence of a predetermined condition, such as failure of a pump (44) to supply fluid under pressure. The members (160 and 162) which effect movement of the piston (130) to the centered condition are normally disposed in an overlapping relationship which enables the motor (16) to have a compact construction. In one embodiment of the invention, the members (160 and 162) which effect movement between the piston (130) and the housing (112) toward the centered condition include an inner centering member (162) and a cylindrical outer centering member (160) which extends around the inner centering member.

摘要： A three-position switching valve has a spool positioned in a valve hole that is moved relative to two drive chambers positioned on either end of the valve hole. Solenoid-controlled pilot valves are provided to control supplying and ejecting a pilot fluid to and from the two respective drive chambers. This spool is held at a neutral position by the provision of two piston chambers being formed adjacent to each of the drive chambers and constantly receiving pilot fluid through a channel, the piston chambers each having a smaller diameter than that of the drive chambers. Each piston chamber accommodates a piston which may slidably move so as to be urged by pilot fluid toward the spool and a linking member interposed between each of the pistons and the spool. A return spring is interposed between each of the pistons and each linking member as part of the structure holding the spools at the neutral position.

In addition, a second actuator port is connected to a lowering side chamber of the working machine cylinder. A regeneration passage makes the second actuator port communicate with a regeneration port through a check valve. A main spool is adapted to supply a pressure oil to the second actuator port and to make the first actuator port communicate with a tank port and the regeneration port by moving the main spool in one direction. The directional control valve unit also includes a switching device for switching the maximum moving distance of the main spool in the one direction in a plurality of stages.

The piston (21) of the auxiliary actuator has a piston rod (22) which extends into the cylinder chamber (2a) of the actuator. Its stroke equals half the length of the stroke of the rods (7 and 8) of two conventional pistons (5 and 6). The firstmentioned piston rod (22) limits the movement of the pistons (5 and 6) of the actuator in a direction away from one another. In this way, there can be obtained a distinct intermediate position for the rotary settings of the actuator.

The regulator comprises two or more pistons dividing a common cylinder into a number of pressure chambers, the pistons being arranged for movement relative to one another. The invention provides stop means for each separate piston, each stop means being individually adjustable to produce different lengths of stroke for the respective pistons whereby the output piston rod from the cylinder is caused to adopt a number of axially determined limit positions depending upon the control pressure applied to respective pressure chambers.
