Abstract:
A load-carrying dolly having four wheels (6, 7) adjacent the corners of its platform (1) is rendered immobile by conversion to a pallet-like condition by lowering bearers (9, 10, 11) into contact with the floor or ground (24) and then raising the platform (1) slightly to raise the wheels (6, 7) clear of the floor or ground by means of either of two pedals (25, 32), one below each end of the platform (1), with linkage (of either of two forms, not shown) to bars (23) connecting in “slave” pairs of toggle links (20, 21) by means of which the bearers are suspended through beams (33) connecting upward extensions (12, 13, 14) at the ends of the bearers (9, 10, 11), the toggle links in each pair becoming locked by mating abutments (28) coming together when the links have passed slightly beyond in-line position, the mechanical advantage of the depressed pedal (25 or 32) being amplified by that of the pairs of toggle links when passing through in-line positions.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a reuseable seat delivery pallet for transporting seats. The seat delivery pallet includes a platform, and spaced-apart first and second locking tracks positioned on the platform for securing a seat thereto. The first and second locking tracks are adapted to receive feet of the seat therein and to permit the seat slide between a locking position and a release position. The seat delivery pallet also including a lock positioned on the platform for cooperating with the seat to maintain the seat in the locking position.
Abstract:
A container (1) for meat storage, treatment and distribution has an external rib (5) to facilitate handling and provide strength. Clips (32) are provided for attaching a lid (6) to the container, and a clip removal tool (52) which allows clips to be removed to open the container.
Abstract:
A reconfigurable, transportable container assembly is provided. Side panels are releasably interconnected with each other and combine with a base panel, and a top panel releasably mates with the side panels. The top panel is combined with the side panels and the base panel to form a transport configuration that defines a closed, transportable, collapsible container, and that is reconfigurable to a nontransport configuration that defines a substantially stationary structure different from the transport configuration. Embodiments can include deployable wheel assemblies and extendible jack assemblies connect to the base panel.
Abstract:
A pallet (2) includes a deck (4), a support structure (8a,b) for supporting the deck above the ground, and a plurality of retractable wheels (12a,b) that can be configured in a deployed condition in which they fully support the pallet or a retracted condition. A releasable locking mechanism (28) is provided for locking the retractable wheels in the deployed condition.
Abstract:
A single transportation platform system capable of interfacing with standardized ISO containers, PLS truck-and-trailer systems, HSVs Fast Sealift Ships, and cargo aircraft's 463L rail and pallet locking systems. The system can be handled by a LHS equipped vehicle as a joined platform or separated into individual pallets and handled like a 463L pallet. The platform provides a pallet system that eliminates the need for a married pallet system to be used in the process of loading and supporting loads normally transported on standard CROPs when being transported on a cargo aircraft. The platform can be positioned directly on the roller assembly of a loading ramp of a cargo aircraft, such as a C-17 by a LHS equipped vehicle, so as to facilitate loading and unloading from the aircraft without the need for large cranes or K-loaders. The platform also permits combat offloads to be performed.
Abstract:
A pallet and an associated method are provided for supporting an item mounted upon casters. The pallet includes a pallet deck having a fixed portion and a movable portion. The movable portion moves between a first position in which the movable portion is displaced, such as by being rotated downwardly, from the fixed portion and a second position in which the movable and fixed portions cooperate to define a support surface. The movable portion is in the second position while the item is loaded, but is moved to the first position during shipment. The pallet also includes a support for supporting the item once the movable portion is in the first position. Prior thereto, however, the item is typically spaced from the support. Each support can include a stationary portion and a movable portion that moves between a retracted position to facilitate loading and an extended position during shipment.
Abstract:
A container (10) for stackable articles includes a base assembly (20), a plurality of side assemblies (30), a top assembly (70), and a plurality of shelf assemblies (50). The base assembly (20), side assemblies (50), and top assembly (70) are preferably constructed of a multiple layer, corrugated laminate, and are attachable to one another, defining an interior storage space (45). Each shelf assembly (50) includes a plurality of shelf support blocks (52) with a plurality of face sections (53) distributed along a length (37), and a shelf flap (54). The shelf assemblies (50) are secured to the sidewall assemblies (30), and positioned in the storage space (45) to engage manufactured articles, for example sunroofs, positioned therein.
Abstract:
An improved pallet and, particularly, an improved post construction for a pallet which can be easily and quickly affixed thereto. In addition, a roller is provided about the posts for reducing the tendency of fork tines from damaging or otherwise impairing the posts.
