An agitation apparatus and method for dry solids additions to fluid includes an up-pumping mixer and attrition scrubber. The up-pumping mixer provides the initial mixing of the solids with the liquid, and the attrition scrubber removes clumping.

In a system for remediating a subsurface body of contaminated water a gas delivery system delivers chemically reactive gas to the subsurface body of contaminated water and a gas recovery system removes excess chemically reactive gas from the subsurface body of contaminated water. The gas delivery system includes a supply of chemically reactive gas, an outflow controller for controlling outflow of chemically reactive gas from the supply, a delivery site for delivering chemically reactive gas from the supply into the body of contaminated water, and a delivery line in fluid communication with the outflow controller and the delivery site. The delivery line extends into the subsurface through an entry hole. In addition, the delivery line extend below an upper surface of the body of contaminated water. The gas recovery system includes a vacuum source, a collection site disposed above the delivery site, a recovery controller for controlling a flow of a recovered gas from the collection site to the vacuum source, and a line in fluid communication with the recovery controller and the collection site.

A drive system for driving a mixer impeller shaft in a vessel, including a motor; an outer magnet rotor driven by the motor; a bearing housing mountable to a vessel; and a drive shaft rotatable in the bearing housing. An inner magnet rotor is connected to the drive shaft and a manifold plate is connected to the bearing housing. A canister is connected to the manifold plate so that a chamber is defined in the bearing housing having an inlet port for directing fluids into the chamber. A plurality of ports extend through the manifold plate providing fluid communication from the chamber to the inside of the canister; and a plurality of ports through the inner magnet rotor provide fluid communication from the inside of the canister through the inner magnet rotor. A fluid path is provided from the chamber through the ports, around the inner magnet motor, and through the inner magnet rotor, which fluid path is sealed from the environment by the canister.

A plug-in module adds functionality to a portable electronic device. The module includes a housing that is accepted by a housing port of the portable electronic device. The module includes at least one latch to secure the module to the electronic device. Each latch includes a first member, a second member, and a third member. The housing includes at least one receptacle corresponding to each latch. The receptacles are sized and positioned to accept a member of the latch and direct the latch to a groove located on the portable electronic device. Optionally, the latch includes a slip-resistant surface sized to accept a human finger or thumb. The module also preferably includes a hardware interface connector sized and positioned within the housing to engage a 120-pin hardware interface port on the portable electronic device when the module housing is positioned on the housing port of the portable electronic device. Receptacles of the electric connector have certain functionality corresponding to the pins on the port.
