In another embodiment, the rollable circular display device (10) comprises a housing (20), a circular display (6) expandable in two dimensions between a stored configuration in which the circular display (6) is stored within the housing (20) and an expanded configuration in which the circular display is fully viewable, and an inner cone, being arranged co-axially within the housing (20) and rotatable within the housing, wherein the circular display (6) is wound around the inner cone in the stored configuration.

    摘要: A conformable, flexible or roll up display (100) includes a matrix display layer (115) including lines of sub-pixels (116). Each line has an associated color assigned to the line (132, 134, 136), and each line extends along a roll up or bend direction (140). A display effect layer (128) is formed on the matrix layer. A color filter layer (152) includes striped color filters (154) which extend in the roll up or bend direction. The striped color filters each include a filter color corresponding with the lines of sub-pixels in the matrix layer to address misalignment and color errors due to bending or rolling up the display. Methods for fabricating flexible displays are also disclosed.

    摘要: The invention relates to a device comprising a multilayered structure with a first portion and a second portion wherein the first portion is conceived to be rolled about a first roller, said device comprising a second roller for receiving the second portion for at least partially counteracting the effects of mechanical strain induced in the multilayered structure upon said rolling. The first roller is rotated in a first direction, whereby the second roller is rotated in a second direction. Preferably, the diameters of the first roller and the second roller are equal. Alternatively, the edge portions A, B of the multilayer structure are suitably interconnected by stoppers for preventing creeping.
