Abstract:
A system, apparatus, and method for enabling a communication device to be paired with multiple other communication devices that are connected to a network without the need to conduct a separate pairing operation between the first communication device and each of the other network-connected devices. The data exchanged between a user's communication device and a peer communication device (e.g., one of a group of network-connected communication devices) that is used to authenticate communications between the user device and the peer device (i.e., link key) is stored in a network-accessible data storage and retrieval system. The link key is used by the user device when attempting to establish communications with a different peer device (e.g., another one of the network-connected devices) and is retrieved by the other network-connected peer device and used to enable authenticated communications between the other peer device and the user device.
Abstract:
A pair of wireless of discrete wireless headsets may wirelessly link with each other. At least a portion of data representing content (e.g., audio information) may be received by a first wireless headset and may be communicated to a second wireless headset via the wireless link (e.g., a radio frequency link). The first wireless headset may receive the data representing the content from an internal data store (e.g., non-volatile memory), or from a wired and/or a wireless communications link between the first wireless headset and an external device (e.g., a smartphone, a tablet, a content streaming device, etc.). Ambient noise may impair auditory intelligibility of audio information included in the data representing the content when the audio information is presented only on the first wireless headset. Impaired auditory intelligibility may be mitigated by presenting the audio information on both the first and second wireless headsets to enhance auditory intelligibility.
Abstract:
Techniques associated with a smart media ecosystem using local data and remote social graph data are described, including identifying an account associated with a user based on a detection of a presence of a compatible device, the compatible device being associated with the account in a profile, receiving an input indicating a request for media content, retrieving remote social graph data from a remote database, cross-referencing the remote social graph with profile data being stored locally, the profile data associated with media preferences, updating the profile data with a learned media preference generated by a learning module, selecting targeted media content based on the profile data, and sending a control signal to a media device, the control signal configured to cause the media device to output the targeted media content.
Abstract:
Embodiments relate generally to electrical/electronic hardware, computer software, wired and wireless network communications, portable, wearable, and stationary media devices. RF transceivers and/or audio system in each media device may be used to wirelessly communicate between media devices and allow configuration and other data to be wirelessly transmitted from one media device to another media device. The proximity detection system may be configured to detect a presence of a user or multiple users and upon detecting presence, access content on a user device, and record the content while also playing back the content on the media device. One or more user devices in proximity of the media device post detection may wirelessly communicate with the media device and the media device may orchestrate handling of content from those devices or from a wirelessly accessible location such as the Cloud or Internet.
