    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. According to various embodiments, a method for operating a server may comprise the steps of: while at least one service is connected to a terminal, receiving, from another device, a request for providing a first service to the terminal; determining, in response to the request, whether it is possible to provide the first service to the terminal; when the first service cannot be provided, determining whether to terminate one of the at least one service; and, if the one of the at least one service is terminated, transmitting a setup message for the first service to the terminal in response to the termination.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates in a Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). According to various embodiments, a network node in a wireless communication system may include: receiving, from an application function (AF) via a network exposure function (NEF), user equipment (UE) radio capability information on UE radio capability identifier (ID) and at least one UE radio capability mapping to the UE radio capability ID; receiving, from an access and mobility management function (AMF), a request for information on at least one UE radio capability mapping to a specific UE radio capability ID; and transmitting, to the AMF, the information on at least one UE radio capability mapping to the specific UE radio capability ID.

    Methods and apparatuses provide a service to user equipment through a dedicated core network. In one method, a base station, also referred to as eNB, receives a non-access stratum (NAS) message from user equipment (UE), and transmits a first initial UE message having the NAS message to a first mobility management entity (MME). Also, the base station receives a redirection request message having the NAS message from the first MME, and transmits a second initial UE message having the NAS message to a second MME. In another method, the MME receives the first initial UE message having the NAS message from the base station, and transmits the redirection request message having the NAS message when the MME fails to support a dedicated core network according to UE usage type information. If the redirection request message is transmitted, a second initial UE message having the NAS message is transmitted to a dedicated MME.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for steering a protocol data unit (PDU) session associated with traffic routed to a selected user plane function (UPF). The method includes receiving, from an application function (AF), a first message including information identifying a UPF toward which traffic routing is applied and information on a spatial condition of a terminal location; receiving, from a session management function (SMF) device, a second message including information on a change of the terminal location in an area of interest determined based on the spatial condition; selecting a UPF based on the information identifying the UPF and the information on the change of the terminal location; and transmitting, to the SMF device, a third message including information on the selected UPF for steering a PDU session associated with traffic routed to the selected UPF.

The MM core network entity processes the received NAS message and the indication data. The MM core network entity determines status of network congestion upon processing the processed NAS message. Sending, by the MM core network entity, a response to the UE based on at least one of the processed indication data and the determined network congestion.

    Abstract: Provided are a communication method and system that combine the 5G communication system with IoT technology to support a data rate higher than that of the 4G system. The present disclosure is based on 5G communication technology and IoT related technology and can be applied to intelligent services (e.g., smart home, smart building, smart city, smart or connected car, health care, digital education, retail business, security, and safety related services). A method is provided that enables the terminal and the 5G network to check each other's capability information to achieve interworking between network slices defined differently by different mobile network operators. The method includes receiving system information associated with a network slice; transmitting, to an access and mobility management function (AMF) entity of a visited public land mobile network (VPLMN), a first message, in case that the system information is associated with a base station corresponding to the VPLMN; and receiving, from the AMF entity, a second message including allowed network slice selection assistance information (NSSAI) for the terminal.
