Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for transmit energy allocation. A method that may be performed by a wireless device includes establishing first and second wireless communication connections and allocating an available energy between the first and second wireless communication connections by: allocating a first portion of the available energy to the first wireless communication connection based at least in part on one or more functionalities associated with the first wireless communication connection; allocating a second portion of the available energy to the second wireless communication connection based at least in part on one or more functionalities associated with the second wireless communication connection; and allocating a third portion of the available energy to the first and/or the second wireless communication connections based at least in part on energy efficiencies of the first and second wireless communication connections.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a UE receives a first uplink grant for a first RAT (e.g., 5G NR) and a second uplink grant for a second RAT (e.g., LTE). In one embodiment, the UE schedules an uplink transmission on the first RAT (e.g., by selectively dropping the uplink transmission on particular resource blocks) so as to manage an amount of time that is based on concurrent uplink transmissions on both the first and second RATs are performed. In another embodiment, the UE establishes a first period of time where a BSR transmitted by the UE on the first RAT is adjusted based on scheduling of concurrent uplink multi-RAT transmissions, and a second period of time where no BSR is transmitted by the UE on the first RAT based where concurrent uplink transmissions on both the first and second RATs are not permitted to be scheduled.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide example apparatus, methods, processing systems, and computer readable mediums implementing techniques for modifying a configuration of a radio bearer based on a request for quality of service (QoS) for a communication flow. In aspects, a user equipment (UE) receives a request for a QoS for a communication flow and maps the communication flow to a radio bearer based on a downlink map. The UE is configured to communicate over a number of radio bearers. The downlink map associates one or more communication flows to one or more of the number of radio bearers. The UE then modifies a configuration of the radio bearer based on the request for the QoS. During operation, the UE receives one or more downlink packets on the radio bearer and processes the one or more downlink packets according to the QoS.

Abstract: In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may receive an uplink (UL) grant (e.g., dynamic UL grant, UL configured grant (CG)) from a network, but may decide to skip the UL grant altogether or not transmit any user plane data on the UL grant. In such instances, the UE may maintain or expedite expiration associated with one or more timers (e.g., discontinuous reception (DRX) and bandwidth part (BWP) inactivity timers, secondary cell (SCell) deactivation timer, etc.). The UE may also maintain or expedite expiration associated with one or more timers if it receives downlink (DL) transmission (e.g., DL semi-persistent scheduling (SPS)) from the network that includes no user plane data.
