    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a domain name system (DNS) override for edge computing. Embodiments include receiving signaling indicating an address of a DNS server. Embodiments include receiving signaling indicating an address of an edge DNS server. Embodiments include intercepting a DNS request from an application. Embodiments include changing a destination address of the DNS request to the address of the edge DNS server. Embodiments include intercepting a DNS response from the edge DNS server that is sent in response to the DNS request. Embodiments include upon determining that the DNS response does not comprise a failure notification, changing a source address of the DNS response to the address of the DNS server.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for selecting policies for routing of data traffic. Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a user-equipment (UE). The method generally includes selecting at least one policy for routing of data traffic to a network, wherein the policy comprise an access network discovery and selection policy (ANDSP) if the UE has the ANDSP provisioned regardless of whether the UE is registered to evolved packet core (EPC) or fifth-generation core network (5GCN), and communicating the data traffic to the network based on the selection.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to switching data paths in a wireless device having first and second processors. The wireless device may determine a change to a service, the service using a first data path including a first internet protocol (IP) stack on the first processor and lower layer processing on a wireless modem, the first data path providing a tunneled connection to the service through a network. The wireless device may establish a second data path for the service, the second data path including a second IP stack on the second processor including tunneling to the service through the network and the lower layer processing on the wireless modem. The wireless device may switch the service from the first data path to the second data path in response to establishing the second data path. The first processor may be placed in a power save mode.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that the UE is connected to a wireless network on a first carrier frequency in a first frequency range that is associated with a lower data rate than a second carrier frequency in a second frequency range. In some aspects, the first frequency range may be associated with a first version of a radio access technology (RAT) and the second frequency range may be associated with a second version of the RAT. The UE may determine a bandwidth metric associated with the first carrier frequency in the first frequency range. The UE may display a first visual indicator associated with the first version of the RAT or a second visual indicator associated with the second version of the RAT based on the bandwidth metric.
