Abstract: A first communication device generates a block acknowledgement (BA) frame that includes (i) acknowledgement information to indicate, to a second communication device, whether the first communication device successfully received multiple media access control (MAC) frames transmitted by the second communication device, and (ii) an indication of a change in a BA session between the first communication device and the second communication device. The first communication device transmits the BA frame to the second communication device, where the BA frame causes the second communication device to adopt the change in the BA session in response to receiving the BA frame.

Abstract: A first communication device generates and transmits to a second communication device: first and second information elements that respectively indicate capabilities regarding physical layer protocol data units (PPDUs) conforming to a first communication protocol and a second communication protocol. The first communication device generates and transmits a MAC data unit that includes a number corresponding to a maximum number spatial streams supported by the first communication device. The number in the MAC data unit, and one or more of i) the first information element, ii) the second information element, and iii) other information in the MAC data unit, indicate first and second maximum numbers of spatial streams supported by the first communication device with respect to PPDUs conforming to the first communication protocol, and PPDUs conforming to the second communication protocol, respectively.

Abstract: A first communication device generates respective media access control (MAC) protocol data units (MPDUs) that include respective data for a respective second communication devices, and determines respective resource units (RUs) via which at least some of the second communication devices are to transmit as part of an uplink (UL) orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) physical layer (PHY) transmission to respectively acknowledge receipt of the respective MPDUs. The first communication device generates respective control frames that are configured to prompt the at least some of the second communication devices to transmit the UL OFDMA PHY transmission, and that include indicators of the RUs via which the at least some of the second communication devices are to transmit as part of the UL OFDMA PHY transmission. The first communication device generates and transmits a single multi user (MU) PHY data unit that includes i) the MPDUs, and ii) the control frames.

Abstract: A method for communication over a wireless interface between transceivers that are moving with respect to each other. The method includes transmitting, by a communication station (STA) in a moving vehicle over a wireless channel to a receiver outside the vehicle, a sequence of data symbols encoded in accordance with a frequency-domain multiplexing scheme extending over a range of sub-carrier tones. A condition affecting the wireless channel is evaluated. Responsively to the evaluated condition, a pilot scheme is selected from among a plurality of available pilot schemes, for interleaving of pilot signals in specified sub-carrier tones of the data symbols. An indication of the selected pilot scheme is exchanged between the STA and the receiver. The pilot signals are interleaved in the transmitted data symbols in accordance with the selected pilot scheme.

Abstract: A first communication device generates a range measurement packet (or a packet that includes a probe response frame, a TIM frame, etc.) associated with a range measurement signal exchange session between the first communication device and a second communication device. The first communication device records a time value of a first timer corresponding to a time of transmission of the packet, and includes timing information corresponding to the recorded time value in the packet. The first communication device transmits the packet to the second communication device. The timing information in the packet is useable by a third communication device to adjust time values corresponding to a second timer, which the third communication device includes.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a method for transmitting a wake-up radio packet to low power devices in a wireless local area network. At a wireless access point having a plurality of antennas, data for transmission to one or more lower power wireless devices are received. A wake-up radio packet, including a wake-up data frame, is configured for transmission to the one or more lower power wireless devices. A waveform for transmitting the wake-up radio packet is generated. At each of the plurality of antennas, the waveform is adjusted with spatial mapping to prevent unintentional spatial nulling of the waveform during transmission of the wake-up radio packet. The wake-up radio packet is transmitted, via the plurality of antennas, in a form of the adjusted waveform to the one or more lower power wireless devices prior to transmitting the received data to the one or more lower power wireless devices.

Abstract: A beamforming training packet is transmitted from a first communication device to multiple second communication devices. A trigger frame is generated at the first communication device to trigger an uplink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission of beamforming training feedback from at least some of the multiple second communication devices. After transmission of the beamforming training packet by the first communication device, the trigger frame is transmitted to the at least some of the multiple communication devices. The uplink OFDMA transmission is then received at the first communication device. The uplink OFDMA transmission includes respective beamforming training feedback packets generated based on the beamforming training packet by respective ones of the at least some of the multiple second communication devices. The respective beamforming training feedback packets are simultaneously transmitted by the at least some of the multiple second communication devices.

Abstract: A first communication device in a first wireless network determines a transmit power for transmitting a first packet during a spatial reuse opportunity corresponding to a transmission in a second wireless network. Determining the transmit power includes using a spatial reuse parameter, indicative of an acceptable interference level in the second wireless network, included in a second packet transmitted by a second communication device in the second wireless network. The first communication device generates the first packet to include information to indicate to a third communication device, that is an intended receiver of the first packet, to not transmit an acknowledgment of the first packet according to a normal acknowledgment procedure during the spatial reuse opportunity. The first communication device transmits the first packet at the determined transmit power, and receives the acknowledgement from the third communication device, the acknowledgement having not been transmitted according to the normal acknowledgment procedure.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provides a system for detecting data received in a low power low rate (LPMR) data frame format. The system includes a receiver and control circuitry. The receiver is configured to receive a data frame comprising an LPLR preamble portion and an LPLR data portion following the LPLR preamble portion. The LPLR preamble portion and the LPLR data portion occupy a bandwidth that is less than an allowed bandwidth. The control circuitry is configured to determine a mode of the data frame based on whether the data frame has an additional portion, and detect data field in the LPLR preamble portion from the data frame based on the mode of the data frame.

Abstract: A plurality of different OFDM tone blocks for a wireless local area network (WLAN) communication channel are assigned to a plurality of devices. An OFDMA data unit is generated, the OFDMA unit including a preamble portion and a data portion, the preamble portion having at least i) a first legacy portion that corresponds to at least a first OFDM tone block, ii) a second legacy portion that corresponds to a second OFDM tone block, iii) a first non-legacy portion that corresponds to the first OFDM tone block, iv) a second non-legacy portion that corresponds to the second OFDM tone block, and v) a third non-legacy portion that corresponds to a third OFDM tone block. The first OFDM tone block and the second OFDM tone block are separated in frequency by at least the third OFDM tone block.
