摘要: A first communication device generates a physical layer (PHY) preamble for a PHY data unit to be transmitted via a communication channel, the PHY data unit conforming to a first communication protocol. Generating the PHY preamble includes generating a legacy portion of the PHY preamble to include a legacy signal field, which is decodable by one or more second communication devices that conform to a second communication protocol to determine a duration of the PHY data unit. The PHY preamble is generated to also include a duplicate of the legacy signal field in the PHY preamble, wherein presence of the duplicate of the legacy signal field indicates to one or more third communication devices that conform to the first communication protocol that the PHY data unit conforms to the first communication protocol. The first communication device generates the PHY data unit to include the PHY preamble and a PHY payload.

摘要: Embodiments described herein provide a method for resource unit signaling with reduced data bits in a wireless local area network. At a wireless transceiver, a data frame may be obtained for transmission. The data frame includes a first preamble portion and a second preamble portion compliant with a wireless local area network communication protocol. When an available resource unit for transmitting the data frame is less than an allowed bandwidth, the first preamble portion and the second preamble portion may be configured with resource unit signaling bits. When the available resource unit is greater than or equal to the allowed bandwidth, the resource unit may be virtually divided into a plurality of channels. At least one of the first preamble portion and the second preamble portion may be configured with a first number of bits representing a number of users spatially multiplexed on a channel from the plurality of channels.

摘要: A beamforming training packet is transmitted from a first communication device to multiple second communication devices. A trigger frame is generated at the first communication device to trigger an uplink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission of beamforming training feedback from at least some of the multiple second communication devices. After transmission of the beamforming training packet by the first communication device, the trigger frame is transmitted to the at least some of the multiple communication devices. The uplink OFDMA transmission is then received at the first communication device. The uplink OFDMA transmission includes respective beamforming training feedback packets generated based on the beamforming training packet by respective ones of the at least some of the multiple second communication devices. The respective beamforming training feedback packets are simultaneously transmitted by the at least some of the multiple second communication devices.

摘要: Embodiments described herein provides a system for detecting data received in a low power low rate (LPMR) data frame format. The system includes a receiver and control circuitry. The receiver is configured to receive a data frame comprising an LPLR preamble portion and an LPLR data portion following the LPLR preamble portion. The LPLR preamble portion and the LPLR data portion occupy a bandwidth that is less than an allowed bandwidth. The control circuitry is configured to determine a mode of the data frame based on whether the data frame has an additional portion, and detect data field in the LPLR preamble portion from the data frame based on the mode of the data frame.

摘要: A plurality of different OFDM tone blocks for a wireless local area network (WLAN) communication channel are assigned to a plurality of devices. An OFDMA data unit is generated, the OFDMA unit including a preamble portion and a data portion, the preamble portion having at least i) a first legacy portion that corresponds to at least a first OFDM tone block, ii) a second legacy portion that corresponds to a second OFDM tone block, iii) a first non-legacy portion that corresponds to the first OFDM tone block, iv) a second non-legacy portion that corresponds to the second OFDM tone block, and v) a third non-legacy portion that corresponds to a third OFDM tone block. The first OFDM tone block and the second OFDM tone block are separated in frequency by at least the third OFDM tone block.

摘要: A communication device determines that an extension field should be included in physical layer (PHY) data unit to provide a receiver with more processing time to process data included in the PHY data unit, wherein the extension field is not required to be processed by the receiver. The communication device generates i) a PHY preamble of the PHY data unit, and ii) a PHY data portion of the PHY data unit, the PHY data unit conforming to a first communication protocol. Each orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol in the PHY data portion is generated with a first tone spacing, which is a fraction 1/N of a second tone spacing defined by a second communication protocol, wherein N is a positive integer greater than one. The communication device also generates the extension field of the PHY data unit, which is appended to an end of the PHY data portion.

摘要: Systems and techniques relating to wireless communications are described. A described technique includes sensing a group of channels for a channel contention operation that acquires two or more channels of the group of channels and detects a busy channel of the group of channels; determining a channel bonding indicator based on the channel contention operation; generating a preamble portion of a frame that includes the channel bonding indicator; generating a data portion of the frame, and transmitting the frame to one or more devices. Generating the preamble portion can include duplicating a legacy preamble on each of the acquired channels within the preamble portion. Generating the data portion can include setting first subcarriers that correspond to the acquired channels to data values, and setting second subcarriers that correspond to the busy channel to null values for at least a portion of the data portion of the frame.

A first portion of the PHY preamble is generated to include a first signal field having a length subfield that indicates a length of the PHY data unit, A second signal field is generated, and the second signal field and a duplicate of the second signal field are included in the PHY preamble. The PHY preamble is formatted such that the first portion of the PHY preamble is decodable by any second communication device that conforms to a second communication protocol, but does not conform to the first communication protocol, to determine a duration of the PHY data unit based on the length subfield in the first portion of the PHY preamble. The first communication device generates the PHY data unit to include the PHY preamble.

摘要: A first communication device generates a trigger frame to trigger a contention-based uplink orthogonal frequency multiple access (OFDMA) transmission by multiple second communication devices. The trigger frame may be configured to indicate a predetermined length of the contention-based uplink OFDMA transmission, where the predetermined length corresponds to contention-based uplink OFDMA transmissions. The first communication device transmits the trigger frame to the multiple second communication devices, receives the contention-based uplink OFDMA transmission. The contention-based uplink OFDMA transmission may be of the predetermined length.

摘要: A first communication device receives sounding feedback packets from a plurality of second communication devices, wherein each sounding feedback packet includes one or more channel quality indicators (CQIs) corresponding to one or more groups of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) subcarriers associated with the corresponding second communication device. The first communication device selects a group of second communications devices, based on the received one or more CQIs, for orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) communication. The first communication device transmits at least one OFDMA data unit that includes respective data directed to two or more second communication devices of the group, where the respective data are transmitted via respective groups of subcarriers that were allocated to the two or more second communication devices of the group by the first communication device using the received CQIs.
