Provided is a latent heat transfer material that is micro-encapsulated, said material exhibiting superior mechanical strength and heat resistance. A production method for the latent heat transfer material that is micro-encapsulated in a hard shell comprises: 1) a step in which a perforate hollow silica particle is manufactured; 2) a step in which the phase change material is sealed inside the perforate hollow silica particle by inserting the perforate hollow silica particle in a molten solution of the phase change material and repeatedly subjecting the same to vibrations such as ultrasound oscillations; 3) a step in which the perforate hollow silica particle having the phase change material sealed within is washed in a saturated aqueous solution of the phase change material; and 4) a step in which perhydropolysilazane is used to coat the outer shell of the perforate hollow silica particle with silica.

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing ethanol efficiently even in the presence of a fermentation inhibitor in a saccharified biomass. The present invention provides a method for producing ethanol from biomass, comprising: culturing a transformed xylose-utilizing yeast to overexpress the gene for at least one pentose phosphate pathway metabolic enzyme, with a saccharified biomass.

Provided is a method for efficiently producing ethanol by ethanol fermentation from xylose using a saccharified biomass, which contains various fermentation inhibitors. A method for producing ethanol from biomass of the present invention includes the step of culturing a xylose-utilizing yeast transformed so as to overexpress a gene for an acetic acid -responsive transcription factor in combination with a saccharified biomass.

An apparatus is provided for classifying targets into a known-object group and an unknown-object group. The apparatus includes a speech/image data storage unit configured to store a spoken sound of a name of an object and an image of the object; a unit configured to calculate a speech confidence level of a speech for the name of the object with reference to a spoken sound of a name of a known object; a unit configured to calculate an image confidence level of an image of an object with respect to an image of a known object; and a unit configured to compare an evaluation value, which is obtained by combining the speech confidence level and image confidence level, with a threshold value, and classify a target object into an object group determined according to whether the spoken sound of the name and the image are known or unknown.
