Abstract:
The drilling of a casing bit and any other equipment in the casing with another casing bit where at least two casing bits of different diameter and having associated casing sections may be assembled to form a drilling assembly for drilling subterranean formations, the at least two casing bits and casing sections are arranged in a telescoping relationship.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for determining processor usable idle time in a system employing a software instruction processor. The method establishes an idle task with a lowest processor priority for a processor executing application software instructions, and uses the processor to execute an idle task. The method ceases to execute the idle task in response to the processor executing application software instructions. The amount of periodic idle task execution is determined and stored in a tangible memory medium. For example, idle time amounts can be determined per a unit of time, i.e. a percentage per second. In one aspect, the method generates an idle task report. The report can be a periodic report expressing the duration of idle task execution per time period, or a course of execution report expressing idle task start times, idle task stop times, and durations between the corresponding start and stop times.

Abstract:
Casing bits include a crown having a substantially hollow interior. The bit crown has blades over a face portion thereof, the blades including a plurality of cutting elements attached thereto. The bit crown further includes a composite inlay positioned at least within the substantially hollow interior. Casing bits also include case hardened outer surfaces radially outside the drill-out region. Casing bits further include short-substrate cutting elements. Methods of forming a casing bit are also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an adjustable fishing lure that has a flexible body and an integrated bendable stay that lets the user bend the body into a specific shape for the purpose of changing the action of the lure. The body of the lure can be bent and will remain in a bent configuration, causing the lure to travel at different water depths as it is pulled through the water.
Abstract:
A method and system for elimination of spatial artifacts in digital imaging. Aperiodicity is applied to periodic data to mitigate spatial artifacts. The data can be received aperiodically and reformatted to be rendered by a periodic output device. The data can be received in periodic format and rendered on an aperiodic output device. The system has aperiodic input and output devices.
Abstract:
This invention provides an anionic borate ligand, and its synthesis. Zwitterionic complexes formed by the ligand and a metal, and Group 9 and 10 metals in particular, are described. Uses of the complexes in stoichiometric and catalytic reaction chemistry are also provided.
Abstract:
A seed monitor includes a planter master unit having one or more planter counting units connected to the planter master unit, with each planter counting unit associated with a different seed tube. Each planter counting unit includes a light source, a means for forming a light beam that traverses a sensing area of a seed tube, a detector and a processor. The circuit board connects the detector and light source with a processor. The processor adjusts the intensity of the light source and selects an output amplifier gain that is appropriate for the counting of seeds. In this manner, the planter monitoring system adjusts for long-term dust and dirt accumulation and aging of components. The processor processes the selected stage of amplified output from the detector and determines the number of seeds that have traversed the sensing area of the associated seed tube. The planter master unit receives binary data of the counted seed, and from this data, provides an output to the operator. In a preferred embodiment, plural planter counting units are connected to the planter master unit in a series connection.
