Abstract: An endoscope sheath comprising: a proximal end; a distal end having a distal end region; a surface extending between and connecting the proximal end and the distal end; and a plurality of positioning devices located along the surface; wherein the sheath is configured to: (1) receive all or a portion of an endoscope having a cylindrical end and (2) provide a conduit for communicating fluid between the proximal end of the sheath and the distal end of the sheath when the endoscope is inserted inside the sheath; and wherein the distal end region of the sheath includes the plurality of positioning devices that secure the cylindrical end of the endoscope against a portion of an inner wall of the surface extending between the proximal end and the distal end so that a fluid barrier is created between the cylindrical end of the endoscope and the inner wall.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling an irrigation flow rate during a lithotripsy procedure are provided. The system includes a laser configured for lithotripsy procedure, a lithotripsy irrigation system, and a temperature sensor configured to provide input to enable control of a flow of the lithotripsy irrigation system in response to a change in temperature from the operation of the laser.

Abstract: A surgical device includes a forceps and a blade. The forceps includes a first working jaw and a second working jaw. The blade extends along a longitudinal axis and includes a notched section. The blade is located between the first working jaw and the second working jaw. A first therapy current can be connected to the first working jaw, the second working jaw, or both so that tissue gripped between the first working jaw and the second working jaw and within the notched section can be coagulated. While the tissue is gripped between the first working jaw and the second working jaw, the blade is moveable along its longitudinal axis so that the tissue is cut with the notched section without repositioning the first working jaw, the second working jaw, or both.

Abstract: An electrosurgical device comprising: (a) forceps including: a first working arm, and a second working arm; (b) a blade; (c) one or more sliders that move along the forceps between at least a first position and a second position; (d) a first activation button; and (e) a second activation button; wherein the electrosurgical device is capable of being switched between: (A) a first configuration wherein: the first working arm and the second working arm are free to move in a direction towards each other so as to grasp tissue therebetween, the blade is retracted within a distal end of the first working arm and a distal end of the second working arm, and the first activation button is configured to produce a first therapy signal; and (B) a second configuration wherein: the first working arm and the second working arm are secured together to prevent movement in a direction towards each other, and the blade is extended so that a distal end of the blade is substantially flush with the distal end of the first working arm and the distal end of the second working arm; wherein at least one of the one or more sliders disable the second activation button when the at least one slider is in a first position, and wherein the at least one slider in a second position: secures the first working arm and the second working arm so that movement of the first working arm and the second working arm are prevented in a direction towards each other, extends the blade, or enables the second activation button to produce a second therapy signal.

Abstract: A surgical device comprising: a handle assembly; a locking collar; and a set of replaceable bits that load along an axis into the handle assembly; wherein the locking collar is fully removable from the handle assembly, the locking collar loads axially to a first position, and the locking collar rotates between the first position and a second position; wherein, in the first position, the locking collar is free to be axially removed from the handle assembly and the replaceable bits are free to be loaded or unloaded from the handle assembly; wherein, in the second position, the locking collar is prevented from axial movement relative to the handle assembly and the replaceable bits are prevented from being received within, or removed from, the handle assembly; and the locking collar is guided to the first position and between the first position and the second position by a groove in the handle assembly mating with a member carried by the locking collar. And a surgical device comprising: a handle assembly comprising a rotatable drive shaft; a removable handle assembly adapter for connection to the handle assembly, the removable handle assembly adapter comprising a rotatable transmission shaft for connection to the rotatable drive shaft of the handle assembly; and a removable nosepiece assembly for connection to the removable handle assembly adapter and for selectively securing the shaft of a working element to the rotatable transmission shaft of the removable handle assembly adapter; wherein the removable handle assembly adapter and the removable nosepiece assembly each comprise a locking collar; and wherein the removable handle assembly adapter and the handle assembly each comprise a connector assembly, the connector assembly comprising: a housing comprising an opening; a collet sleeve disposed within the opening and connected to an input shaft, the collet sleeve comprising a lumen for receiving an output shaft; a locking element movable relative to the collet sleeve between (i) a locked position in which the output shaft is secured to the collet sleeve, and (ii) an unlocked position in which the output shaft is not secured to the collet sleeve; and a cam element movable relative to the collet sleeve between (i) a first position in which the locking element is free to assume its unlocked position, and (ii) a second position in which the cam element cams the locking element into the locked position; such that movement of the locking collar causes the cam element to move between the first position and the second position.
