摘要: The present invention introduces methods of creating floor plans and placements for non Manhattan integrated circuits with existing electronic design automation tools. To create a floor plan, an existing Manhattan based floor planning tool is used. The die size for the floor plan is reduced to take into account the improved wiring density of non Manhattan wiring. A non Manhattan global router is then used on the floor plan to create pin placements. The floor plan may create a floor plan having circuit modules with beveled corners to take advantage of diagonal wiring. To create a placement, an existing Manhattan based placer is first used to create an initial placement. The initial placement is then processed by a non Manhattan aware post processor. The post processor performs local optimizations on the initial placement to improve the placement for a non Manhattan routed integrated circuit.

摘要: Some embodiments of the invention provide a configurable integrated circuit (IC) that has several configurable circuits for configurably performing different operations. During the operation of the IC, each particular configurable circuit performs a particular operation that is specified by a particular configuration data set for the particular configurable circuit. While the IC operates and a first set of configurable circuits performs a first set of operations, configuration data is loaded from the outside of the IC for configuring a second set of configurable circuits. In some embodiments, the configurable IC includes a configuration network for rapid loading configuration data in the IC from outside of the IC. In some of these embodiments, the configuration network is a pipelined network. Also, the IC of some embodiments includes a configuration controller for retrieving configuration data from outside of the IC, formulating configuration data sets, and routing the configuration data sets to the second set of configurable circuits over the configuration network.

摘要: Some embodiments provided a method of designing a configurable IC. The method includes receiving a first design that has at least one controllable circuit that is initialized by a first type of initialization signal. This first design also at least one controllable circuit that is initialized by a second type of initialization signal. The method defines a second design based on the first design. The method defines this second design by replacing all controllable circuits that are initialized by the first type of initialization signal with functionally equivalent controllable circuits. Each of these functionally equivalent controllable circuits includes a particular controllable circuit that is initialized by the second type initialization signal.

摘要: To improve the art of graphical user interfaces, the present invention introduces a system that displays iconic resource representations having a salient dimension in a manner that provides the user with an indication of where the user is within that resource. The system of the present invention achieves this goal with the use of a novel system of icon label placement for that resource icon. Specifically, the system of the present invention uses the position of a label on an iconic resource representation that extends beyond at least one edge of a window to convey a proportional position within than iconic resource representation. Thus, a user is given an understanding of the current proportional location within an iconic resource representation from where the graphical interface system renders the label on the iconic resource representation.

摘要: Methods for pre-processing video sequences prior to compression to provide data reduction of the video sequence. In addition, after compression of the pre-processed video sequence, the bit rate of the pre-processed and compressed video sequence will be lower than the bit rate of the video sequence after compression but without pre-processing. A temporal filtering method is provided for pre-processing of video frames of a video sequence. In the method, pixel values of successive frames are filtered when the difference in the pixel values between the successive frames are within high and low threshold values. The high and low threshold values are determined adaptively depending on the illumination level of a video frame to provide variability of filtering strength depending on the illumination levels of a video frame.
