Abstract:
A nozzle is configured for interaction with a sewer inlet fitting. The sewer inlet fitting is configured for connection to a sewer inlet of a sewer system or sewage receptacle. The sewer inlet fitting includes a cover operable between open and closed conditions by action of the nozzle being inserted thereinto and withdrawn therefrom.
Abstract:
A fluid connector assembly comprises an outer fastener and an inner fastener. The outer fastener is comprised of a top surface, a bottom surface, and a plurality of radially extending members on the top surface. The inner fastener is provided comprising a top surface, a bottom surface, and a plurality of radially extending projections. The radially extending projections are dimensioned to be received by the radially extending members when the inner fastener is assembled with the outer fastener. A connector is disposed in the inner fastener, wherein the connector may be externally threaded so as to receive a fluid supply line that is internally threaded. The radially extending projections of the inner fastener may be flexible.
Abstract:
A method for joining a first conduit section with a second conduit section. The method includes: a) inserting a first end of the second conduit section in an open first end of the first conduit section with a gasket extending between an inner surface of the first conduit section and an outer surface of the second conduit section; b) positioning a flexible substrate having a bonding agent provided on at least a portion of an inner side of the flexible substrate to extend from an outer surface of the first conduit to an outer surface of the second conduit; c) applying pressure to the flexible substrate whereby the bonding agent is pressed against an outer surface of the first and second conduit sections; and d) heating the bonding agent whereby the bonding agent is secured to the outer surface of the first and second conduit sections.
Abstract:
A mechanical coupling for joining pipe elements end to end has a channel that receives a ring seal. The channel is defined by oppositely disposed sidewalls and the ring seal has lobes on opposite sides. The lobes have surfaces facing the side surfaces of the channel. When the ring seal is seated within the channel, each lobe surface contacts a respective side surface such that the lobes deform inwardly toward the center of the channel.
Abstract:
A mechanical restraint member for retaining the relative position of a first conduit in a piping system relative to a second conduit in the piping system. The mechanical restraint member has a flexible substrate having a first outer side, a second inner side and first and second axially spaced apart ends, and a first bonding agent provided on at least a portion of the second inner side.
Abstract:
A locking device for pipes, comprising an inner and an outer pipe provided with adjoining and corresponding circumferential grooves for releasable locking engagement via a locking ring fitted in the grooves and thus releasable locking between the inner and the outer pipe by alteration of the radius of the locking ring, wherein the locking ring has an open section or circle sector along the periphery thereof and is provided, at least at the two radial ends thereof, interrupted by the open section, with two respective guide members comprising respective guide surfaces that are slanted relative to the periphery, and wherein a first one of the guide members is provided with an end stop and a second one of the guide members is provided with a control mechanism protruding through an oblong opening provided through the outer pipe along a portion of its radial groove, wherein the radial displacement of the control mechanism along the oblong opening increases the open section or circle sector of the locking ring while simultaneously forcing the radius of the locking ring to increase for release of the locking engagement owing to the slanted guide surfaces.
Abstract:
A plug unit for connecting capillary tubes includes a plug housing that has an axial borehole, a plug capillary tube that projects through the axial borehole, and a sealing element that surrounds the plug capillary tube. The front end of the plug capillary tube is sealed by an elastic and/or plastic deformation of the sealing element against the capillary tube receptacle opening of a bushing unit. A hollow cylindrical pressure piece is provided that surrounds the sealing element in an axial region facing away from the end surface of the plug capillary tube, and the pressure piece has a rearward end side that faces away from the end surface of the plug capillary tube and that can be loaded by the plug housing with an axial pressure force when the plug unit and bushing unit are connected.
Abstract:
A connector adapted to form a fluid tight connection includes first and second housing sections defining a fluid path. A locking element is configured to selectively lock the first and second housing sections together. A slide seal is positioned generally between the first and second housing sections and is movable between a first, blocking position in which the slide seal blocks and seals the fluid path and a second, unblocking position in which the fluid path is unblocked.
Abstract:
An adaptive air intake joint for an internal combustion engine comprising a molded elastomeric duct body having standing ribs constructed and arranged to provide a continuous and sufficient contact force across the face of a joint of an adjoining duct body. A clamp secured to the duct causes the ribs to provide a continuous and sufficient contact force across a seal surface, eliminating the need for constant tension clamp and improving the air intake joint seal to prevent leakage that is especially common in cold environments.
Abstract:
A fitting for connecting to a tube includes a connector body, a cartridge, a retaining ring and a fastener. The connector body has a generally cylindrical cavity having an inside body diameter that is larger than an outer diameter of a selected tube that is to be connected to by the fitting. The cartridge is disposed in the cylindrical cavity of the connector body and has a passageway therethrough. The cartridge is selected from a plurality of different sized cartridge and the selected cartridge has an inside diameter that generally corresponds to the outer diameter of the selected tube. When the fastener is attached at the connector body, the fastener urges the retaining ring into engagement with the selected tube and at least one of the end of the connector body and the selected cartridge to secure the selected tube within the selected cartridge and the connector body.
