摘要: A method of tagging a document for future access, the method comprising the steps of: (a) Saving a document on a server, (b) Accessing said document by a tagging process program, (c) Having said tagging process program: (i) generate a tag referring to the location of said document on said server; and (ii) add said tag to said document, while said tag being visible on the printed version of the document, wherein, said tag can be scanned by a device equipped with an optical scanner and as a result said document would be accessible to said device.

摘要: Embodiments presented herein describe a package management system that uses guidance devices when transporting packages. In one embodiment, the package management system includes an event detecting device that detects a package transporting event such as when a package is sorted into a container, a container is moved from the warehouse to vehicle, a container is moved from a vehicle into a warehouse, or a package is delivered. For example, the event detecting device may trigger the event in response to a worker scanning a bar code, selecting a delivery route, or checking an electronic manifest. Once a container corresponding to the event is identified, a gateway identifies the guidance device assigned to that container and instructs the guidance device to illuminate a light disposed thereon.

摘要: A marker for locating and identify assets which includes an ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) tag optimized for use below ground and able to more effectively communicate with a RFID reader through a lossy medium such as soil and air. The markers include a reflector which is sized relatively larger than the tag to help focus the forward pattern of the tag more tightly in a forward direction normal to the spiral surface. In addition, the tag includes a chip configured for the soil in which it is to be buried, and an antenna polarized to match the polarization of an RFID reader antenna that is part of a system that includes the marker and reader.

摘要: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for autonomous sensor placement discovery for RFID systems are disclosed. Sensors are deployed in a brick and mortar store that can scan for and receive signals from a plurality of locating tags as well as RFID tags. The locating tags may transmit ultra-wideband signals in response to a scan to provide precise determination of the location of each locating tag relative to a detecting sensor. Each sensor may also include a locating tag to enable determining the location of each sensor. The location information from the locating tags is provided to a gateway, which can provide a display of the locations of sensors and locating tags in the brick and mortar store and areas of no coverage, as well as autonomously control various parameters of the sensors to minimize or eliminate some or all areas of no coverage.

摘要: The present invention proposes a dot pattern on which code information and x and y coordinate information can be defined even if the dot pattern is extremely small, and proposes an information reproducing method and an information reproducing device based on the dot pattern. More specifically, a medium such as a printed material on which is formed a dot pattern portion by arranging in accordance with a given rule dots generated by a dot code generating algorithm in order to recognize various kinds of multimedia information is scanned as image data by scanning means. Then, the image data is converted into code data. Multimedia information corresponding to the code data is read out of storing means to be reproduced.

摘要: In some arrangements, product packaging is digitally watermarked over most of its extent to facilitate high-throughput item identification at retail checkouts. Imagery captured by conventional or plenoptic cameras can be processed (e.g., by GPUs) to derive several different perspective-transformed views—further minimizing the need to manually reposition items for identification. Crinkles and other deformations in product packaging can be optically sensed, allowing such surfaces to be virtually flattened to aid identification. Piles of items can be 3D-modelled and virtually segmented into geometric primitives to aid identification, and to discover locations of obscured items. Other data (e.g., including data from sensors in aisles, shelves and carts, and gaze tracking for clues about visual saliency) can be used in assessing identification hypotheses about an item. A great variety of other features and arrangements are also detailed.

The acoustic tag has an operation lifetime up to a year or longer at a pulse rate interval of about 15 seconds. The acoustic tag has a signal detection range up to at least about 500 meters that enhances detection probability.
