    摘要: A process for the preparation of a magnetic recording medium by dispersing pulverulent magnetic material in a binder mixture which is dissolved in an organic solvent and essentially consists of an elastomeric polyurethane and a high molecular weight hydroxyl-containing polymer, with addition of dispersing assistants and conventional additives, applying a layer of the dispersion, to which a diisocyanate and/or polyisocyanate has first been added, to a base material and the solidifying the layer and crosslinking the binder matrix, wherein the diisocyanate and/or polyisocyanate is added to the dispersion and, before applying the dispersion to the base, from 15 to 55% of the NCO groups present react with the hydroxyl-containing polymer of the binder mixture.

    摘要: The magnetic disc comprises a magnetizable layer (1) to which an adhesion promoting layer (4) and thereto a lubricant film (5) are applied. Onto the substrate of the magnetic head (2) an adhesion reducing layer (9) is deposited. The apparatus can also show only one adhesion-influencing layer. The layers (4) and (9) are formed by the reaction of a sililating agent with reactive groups on the surface of the magnetizable layer (1), or of the substrate of the magnetic head (2), respectively. The sililating agents used differ in their terminal groups of which one category produce van der Waals bonds to the lubricant molecules, and the other is chemically indifferent relative to the lubricant molecules.The two layers (4) and (9) are made e.g. by the spin-coating of a solution of the sililating agent, and subsequent drying.The apparatus ensures a homogeneous coating of the magnetizable layer (1) with lubricant, and it prevents the pick-up of lubricant by the substrate of the magnetic head (2).

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium which comprises a non-magnetic support having on the surface side thereof a magnetic recording layer and on the opposite side thereof a backing layer having a thickness of 2 .mu.m or less, which contains carbon black and a binder and optionally, an inorganic powder, in which the backing layer contains at least two kinds of carbon black, one being fine-grained carbon black having a mean grain size of 10 to 30 m.mu. and the other being coarse-grained carbon black having a mean grain size of 150 to 500 m.mu. such that the weight ratio (P/B) of the total amount of carbon black and inorganic powder (P) to binder (B) is from about 1/0.5 to 1/3.5. The recording medium described provided smooth and stable tape-running for an extended period and a high S/N ratio.
