摘要: A method for capturing material extracted from biochar, the method comprising the steps of: (i) providing a biochar; (ii) contacting the biochar with a treating liquid, where the treating liquid causes the removal of solids from the pores and surface of the biochar, thereby creating a resulting solution or extract comprised of the treating liquid and removed solids; and (iii) collecting the resulting solution or extract. The method further comprises the step of apply the resulting solution or extract to soil or for use in other applications.

摘要: Streptomyces badius SP6C4 strain has an antimicrobial activity against an insect pathogen or a strawberry fungal disease pathogen isolated from strawberry pollen. The growth of an insect pathogen and a strawberry fungal disease pathogen is suppressed by Streptomyces badius SP6C4 strain isolated from strawberry pollen. Streptomyces badius SP6C4 strain can be used as an environmentally friendly biological agrochemical which is free of any environmental contamination yielded as a side effect of an agrochemical or any human toxicity caused by residual agrochemicals, and, by having an excellent effect of controlling American foul brood, chalk brood, and strawberry flower mold disease, it can be very advantageously used in terms of an industrial use.

摘要: The present disclosure describes bee feed products containing blood meal making the products less susceptible to a beetle infestation, and methods of feeding such products to bees. Feeding methods may involve providing a bee feed product to bees on an ad libitum basis. The bee feed product can be an admixture of a liquid bee feed and an amount of blood meal. The amount of blood meal in the bee feed product may reduce the level of beetle infestation. In embodiments, the bees may increase consumption of the feed product in response to the reduced level of beetle infestation.

摘要: This invention concerns a method for preventing and treating Colony Collapse Disorder, consisting in the use of an automated device that delivers a diet specifically calibrated for consumption by farm colonies of bees to be treated. The apparatus comprises a box-like container (10) accommodating in its interior at least one reservoir for liquid-tight, accessible from outside through a nozzle (4), an atomizing device of a liquid solution or suspension contained in the reservoir, means for the delivery (2, 1) of the liquid atomized solution or suspension into micrometric drops outside the apparatus, and a control unit programmed for timing the delivery of the solution or suspension to the outside, for the determination of the quantity of solution or suspension delivered and for emitting alarm signals in case of malfunction, the apparatus being powered DC with the energy supplied by a solar panel (5) located outside of the container. The liquid solution or suspension comprises tonic and nutrient ingredients, mainly consisting of milk powder, sugars and lower organic acids, antioxidant and antiseptic ingredients contained in plant extracts and healing ingredients to bees, such as essential oils of thyme and oxalic acid.

摘要: The invention concerns a composition made from at least one sulphated polysaccharide, in particular from an algae, and combined with at least one food ingredient. This composition can be used, in particular, in the field of food or in the treatment or prevention of an infection caused by microsporidia in humans or animals. It has useful properties as an antiparasitic agent in humans or animals; for the treatment or prevention of an infection caused by at least one microsporidia in humans or animals; in particular for the treatment or prevention of an infection caused in bees by the microsporidia Nosema, preferably Nosema ceranae or Nosema apis, or indeed for stimulating the immune defences of bees.

摘要: A process includes microbially degrading harvested polyculture plant material to form a concentrated microbial biomass and providing the concentrated microbial biomass to an intermediary animal for consumption. The process may also be directed to producing a product animal which includes providing a growth area having an outlet for waste and providing a harvested plant material collection area having an outlet for degradation products. The process may also include providing a microbial growth system for producing a bacterial biomass and directing at least some waste from the outlet of the product animal growth area to the harvested plant material collection area. The process may also include directing at least some degradation products to the microbial growth system, directing some of the microbial biomass produced in the microbial growth system to an intermediary animal for consumption, and directing the intermediary animal to a product animal growth area.
