Abstract:
The disclosure describes a cutting machine for flat material, such as fabrics, sheeting and the like, with a compressed-air-cooled trivot, a trivot drive which is supported on a foot plate by means of a support such as a column, two blade guides having the shape of flat strips being disposed at the support, said blade guides delimiting a gap in which is guided the trivot, which oscillates parallel to the longitudinal direction of the support, a cooling channel extending in the support approximately parallel to the trivot and running more or less the length of the support, a compressed-air-operated vortex tube connected to the cooling channel, and a means for introducing cooling air into the cooling channel for cooling the trivot, blade guides, and support.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for cutting multi-ply layups of limp sheet material employs an automatically controlled machine with a knife blade and a controller for guiding the blade along cutting paths defined by a marker of pattern pieces. The marker contains a plurality of pattern pieces in a closely packed array which causes the pattern pieces and segments of the cutting paths to be in contact or in close proximity to one another, and makes accurate cutting difficult or impossible. Digitized data defining a cutting program for the marker is preprocessed in a data processor to identify critical segments of cutting paths where cutting difficulties may arise and introduces into the data remedial command signals that guide the cutting blade past the identified critical segments for more accurate cutting.
Abstract:
A system and method for cutting multiple pattern pieces from a layup of sheet material employing two-stage digitizing to produce a cutting program in which contour segments of individual pieces are cut by a cutting blade in different directions about the pattern pieces. The direction in which a particular segment of a pattern piece contour is cut and the order in which the segments are cut are selected to most easily facilitate the cutting operation. The point on any given pattern piece toward which a cutting blade is advanced from different directions is generally the point of closest approach to an adjacent or contiguous pattern piece in the marker cut in the sheet material. The feed rate and tangency of the cutting blade are also regulated at sensitive cutting points such as the points of closest approach to an adjacent pattern piece.
Abstract:
A marker for signalling cutting line sensing means is placed on a pattern piece a predetermined distance ahead of a salient corner or a notch. In response to such signal, an alternate cutting tool program control circuit is actuated to substitute for the normal control circuit to effect preprogrammed movement of the cutting tool to cut such corner or notch and then to traverse the tool forwardly until the sensing device has been reoriented to again take over cutting tool control.
Abstract:
The disclosure is related to a rotary cutting apparatus (10) comprising a frame (12); a first rotary device (14 or 16) comprising a first shaft concentrically arranged about a first rotational axis (A or B) and a first drum (37 or 38); a second rotary device (14 or 16) comprising a second shaft concentrically arranged about a second rotational axis (A or B) and a second drum (37 or 38); said first and second rotational axes being substantially horizontal and substantially in the same plane, wherein, a monitoring unit (28) is at least partially embedded in at least one of the drums of the first and second rotary devices, the monitoring unit being configured for measuring at least one working parameter and for transmitting data representative of the at least one working parameter between the monitoring unit and an interface transmission unit poisitioned outside either the first or second rotary device or both.
Abstract:
A product cutting method performs a cutting step of forming a product cutting line in a sheet material, and forming tongue piece portions, which are adjacent to an outer periphery of a product together with being connected to the sheet material, and are capable of being displaced with respect to the sheet material in a thickness direction of the sheet material by forming auxiliary cutting lines continuous with the product cutting line in end members of the sheet material, and an extracting step of taking out the product from the end members by applying a vacuum suction to an extracting device.
