摘要: Provided is a vibration-proof structure capable of more effectively reducing rotational vibration of a rotating body during a cutting operation. According to a configuration of the structure, inside a main body of the rotating body, there are provided a plurality of shaft members arranged along a longitudinal direction of a rotation axis of the rotating body and at least one layer of multiple tubular members fitted over the shaft members and arranged coaxially with the rotation axis along the longitudinal direction of this rotation axis; and a boundary position between the shaft members adjacent each other in the longitudinal direction and a boundary position between the tubular members adjacent each other in the longitudinal direction are set as different positions along the longitudinal direction.

摘要: A toolholder includes a cutting tool mounted to a head attached to a collar at a first end of the toolholder. A shank is located at a second, opposite end of the toolholder. A central cavity extends inwardly from the first end toward the shank. A passive vibration absorber assembly is disposed within the central cavity. The passive vibration absorber assembly includes an absorber body and an absorber cap attached to the absorber body. The absorber body has a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and one or more cavities formed in the second end. The one or more cavities of the absorber body are partially of wholly filled with metal or ceramic particles or powders to provide particle damping for suppressing vibration of the toolholder.

摘要: A toolholder includes a cutting tool mounted to a head attached to a collar at a first end of the toolholder. A shank is located at a second, opposite end of the toolholder. A central cavity extends inwardly from the first end toward the shank. A viscous fluid inertia mass damper is disposed within the central cavity. The viscous fluid inertia mass damper includes an absorber body having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, a fluid reservoir formed in the damper body for containing a viscous fluid, and a plurality of apertures formed in the damper body for allowing the viscous fluid to flow from the fluid reservoir and through the apertures to suppress vibration of the toolholder. A method for suppressing vibrations in a toolholder is also disclosed.

摘要: A tuned or tunable boring tool includes a boring bar defining an elongated cavity therein. A distal end of the boring bar is configured to support a tool or cutting insert. The boring tool further includes a dynamic vibration absorber inserted within the elongated cavity of the boring bar. The dynamic vibration absorber includes a mass that vibrates in conjunction with vibration of the boring bar. The mass has a proximal end and a distal end. The dynamic vibration absorber further includes at least one resilient proximal support positioned adjacent to and supporting the proximal end of the mass and at least one distal resilient support positioned adjacent to and supporting the distal end of the mass. The at least one proximal support and at least one distal support have a different stiffness.

摘要: A tool for machining work pieces includes a base body and at least first and second operating slides, slidable with respect to the base body. The first operating slide carries a machining element. At least one balancing pendulum can be pivoted with respect to the base body. A first coupling device connects the first operating slide and the second operating slide and is pivotably hinged to the first operating slide and the second operating slide. A second coupling device connects the first coupling device and the balancing pendulum. The second coupling device is pivotably hinged to the first coupling device at a hinge point. The second coupling device is pivotably mounted around a rotation axis of the tool. Displacement of the first operating slide resultantly displaces the second operating slide in an opposite direction relative to the rotation axis of the tool.

摘要: A toolholder includes an absorber mass externally mounted to a body portion of the toolholder. A spacer is disposed within one or more recesses formed in a bottom wall of the absorber mass. One or more resilient members are disposed between the body portion and the absorber mass, and one or more resilient members are disposed between the absorber mass and the spacer. A clamping bolt passes through each spacer, through the absorber mass and is threaded into the body portion of the toolholder. A rigidity of the one or more resilient members can be selectively adjusted by the clamping bolts so as to tune the absorber mass for optimum dampening of vibration of the toolholder.

摘要: A tool holder is provided that prevents chattering in a large-sized cutting tool. A tool holder 1 includes an anti-vibration device provided in a radially outer portion of a body. The anti-vibration device has a ring-shaped first anti-vibration member and a second anti-vibration member. The anti-vibration device is fixed to the body together with a cutting tool T1 by means of a bolt. Four O-rings are arranged on both sides of the first anti-vibration member, and the damper property is adjusted by pressing a pressing plate with adjuster bolts. An appropriate gap is formed between the first anti-vibration member and the body and between the first anti-vibration member and the second anti-vibration member.
