摘要: In a method and apparatus for magnetic resonance imaging of an examination object, a control computer is provided with a designation of a first recording region, which is cuboidal. The computer automatically determines a second recording region that represents an adjustment of the first recording region such that the second recording region is cube-shaped. Magnetic resonance scan data are acquired from the entire second recording region. Magnetic resonance image data are reconstructed from the acquired magnetic resonance scan data. An image region of the magnetic resonance image data is supplied in electronic form from the computer.

摘要: A method and system for estimating fractional fat content of an object of interest. An energy emitter is used to direct an energy signal with an energy signal electric field strength toward the region of interest, wherein the region of interest has an object of interest, a reference, and a boundary between the object of interest and the reference. Next, a thermoacoustic or ultrasonic transducer is used to receive a thermoacoustic bipolar signal from the boundary, wherein the thermoacoustic bipolar signal is induced by the energy signal. Finally, a machine is used to accept data from the energy emitter and thermoacoustic or ultrasonic transducer, correlate the thermoacoustic bipolar signal to an electric field strength of the reference at the boundary to generate a corrected thermoacoustic bipolar signal at the boundary, and calculate a fat concentration of the object of interest as a function of the corrected thermoacoustic bipolar signal at the boundary.

摘要: An electrophysiology map, for example a map of arrhythmic substrate, can be generated by acquiring both geometry information and electrophysiology information pertaining to an anatomical region, and associating the acquired geometry and electrophysiology information as a plurality of electrophysiology data points. A user can select two (or more) electrophysiological characteristics for display, and can further elect to apply various filters to the selected electrophysiological characteristics. The user can also define various relationships (e.g., Boolean ANDS, ORs, and the like) between the selected and/or filtered characteristics. The user-selected filtering criteria can be applied to the electrophysiology data points to output various subsets thereof. These subsets can then be graphically rendered using various combinations of colorscale, monochrome scale, and iconography, for example as a three-dimensional cardiac electrophysiology model.

摘要: To enable improved adjustment of at least one shim channel for magnetic resonance imaging of an examination region of an examination object by operation of a magnetic resonance apparatus that has a shim arrangement with a first shim channel volume having at least one first shim channel and a second shim channel volume having at least one second shim channel, the examination region is divided into multiple of sections, multiple first shim parameter sets are determined for the at least one first shim channel, with one first shim parameter set among the multiple first shim parameter sets being ascertained for each of the multiple sections, a second shim parameter set is ascertained for the at least one second shim channel, taking into account the ascertained multiple first shim parameter sets, and magnetic resonance image data of the examination region are acquired, but before this acquisition, the at least one second shim channel is adjusted using the second shim parameter set and the at least one first shim channel is adjusted for acquiring the magnetic resonance image data from a specific section of the multiple sections using a first shim parameter set ascertained for that specific section.

摘要: A system for automatically determining a thickness of a wall of an artery of a subject includes an ECG monitoring device that captures an electrocardiogram (ECG) signal from the subject, and an ultrasound video imaging device, coupled to the ECG monitoring device, that receives the ECG signal from the ECG monitoring device, and captures a corresponding ultrasound video of the wall of the artery of the subject. The system produces a plurality of frames of video comprising the ultrasound video of the wall of the artery of the subject and an image of the ECG signal. A processor is configured to select a subset of the plurality of frames of the ultrasound video based on the image of the (ECG) signal, locate automatically a region of interest (ROI) in each frame of the subset of the plurality of frames of the video using a machine-based artificial neural network and measure automatically a thickness of the wall of the artery in each ROI using the machine-based artificial neural network.

摘要: What is disclosed is a system and method for determining respiration rate from a video of a subject. In one embodiment, a video is received comprising plurality of time-sequential image frames of a region of a subject's body. Features of pixels are extracted from that region from each image frame and vectors formed from these features. Each image frame has an associated feature vector. A N×M video matrix of the vectors of length N is constructed such that a total number of columns M in the video matrix correspond to a time duration over which the subject's respiration rate is to be determined. The video matrix is processed to obtain a matrix of eigenvectors where principal axes of variations due to motion associated with respiration are contained in a first few eigenvectors. One eigenvector is selected from the first few eigenvectors. A respiration rate is obtained from the selected eigenvector.

摘要: Dimensions of a surface feature are determined by capturing an image of the surface feature and determining a scale associated with the image. Structured light may be projected onto the surface, such that the position of structured light in the captured image allows determination of scale. A non-planar surface may be unwrapped. The surface may alternatively be projected into a plane to correct for the scene being tilted with respect to the camera axis. A border of the surface feature may be input manually by a user. An apparatus and system for implementing the method are also disclosed.

摘要: Audio sounds are captured from a subject's body, e.g., using a smartphone or a worn array of microphones. Plural features are derived from the captured audio, and serve as fingerprint information. One such feature may be a time interval over which a threshold part of spectral energy in the audio is expressed. Another may be a frequency bandwidth within which a second threshold part of the spectral energy is expressed. Such fingerprint information is provided to a knowledge base that contains reference fingerprint data and associated metadata. The knowledge base matches the fingerprint with reference fingerprint data, and provides associated metadata in return—which can comprise diagnostic information related to the captured sounds. In some arrangements, an audio signal or pressure waveform stimulates the body at one location, and is sensed at another, to discern information about the intervening transmission medium. A great variety of other features and arrangements are also detailed.

The specific region extracting unit extracts a specific region from the input image that is photographed at a time point different from the reference time point, based on the first histogram and the second histogram.

The CAD apparatus may include a Region of Interest (ROI) detector configured to detect an ROI from image frames, a categorizer configured to create groups of image frames having successive ROI sections from among the image frames based on a result of the detection, a classifier configured to classify an ROI detected from each of the image frames belonging to the groups, and a result combiner configured to combine classification results for the image frames belonging to each group from the groups and to calculate a group result for the each group.
