Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments of the invention relate to a method, system, and storage medium for validating users of communications services. The method includes generating records for communications service users by at least one service provider. The records store information relating to the communications service users including legal liability information, an originator type code, and a validation code assigned to selected originator type codes. The validation code facilitates validation of the communications service users. The method also includes storing the records in a subscriber classification database. The originator type code classifies the communications service users according to nature of use, communications type, business type, geography, and age.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting enhanced originator information over a communications network includes retrieving a service profile for a recipient terminal from a service profile database in response to initiation of a communication by an originator terminal to the recipient terminal. The service profile specifies a service plan and a terminal capability of the recipient terminal to retrieve the enhanced originator information from the originator terminal. The method also includes retrieving multiple information elements associated with the originator terminal from a network database based upon the service plan and the terminal capability of the recipient terminal, and transmitting a communication including the multiple information elements to the recipient terminal prior to establishing a communications session with the recipient terminal. The service plans are stored in a dual format that accommodates both graphically-enabled caller identification devices and caller identification devices that are not graphically enabled.
Abstract:
A brokerage for digital media distribution allows initial recipients of digital media to promote and generate additional distribution of the digital media. The brokerage may involve transferring a copy of the digital media from the device of the initial recipient to a device of an entity interested in obtaining the same digital media, and the device of the entity may then complete the transfer by submitting a record of the transaction that identifies the recipient who has generated the sale such that this initial recipient is compensated by the digital media distributor. The brokerage may alternatively involve directing the device of the receiving entity to a network link that provides access to the digital media and that is associated with the initial recipient. The device of the entity may then complete the transfer that causes the initial recipient to be compensated by the digital media distributor.
Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments include a device for monitoring communications and taking a responsive action including: a receiver operable for receiving an input signal from a user; a transmitter operable for transmitting an output signal to a communications network and a command signal to a secondary device; and a processor in operable communication with the receiver and the transmitter. The processor is operable for monitoring the input signal for an event and responsively instructing the transmitter to transmit the command to the secondary device.

Abstract:
Location based security rules are provided for preventing unauthorized access to a device, application, system, content, and/or network, etc. The location-based security rules enable a user, computing device, system, etc. to access the requested item or information when the user provides proper identification information. The proper identification information is based in part on the location of the user and/or the user's access request.
Abstract:
A process integrated messaging system is provided. The system typically includes messaging interface logic, parsing logic, analyzing logic, and database interface logic. The messaging interface logic receives a first message via a messaging client from an originating party regarding a record. The parsing logic parses the first message into its component parts. The analyzing logic examines the component parts of the message and provides a decision signal in response to the contents of the component parts of the message. The database interface logic receives the decision signal, interfaces to a database, and instructs the database to update the record in accordance with the decision signal. The database controls a number of records, each of the records tracking a process and steps associated with the process. Other systems and methods are also provided.
Abstract:
Consumers are given the option at the point of sale to make a pre-payment for units of goods and/or services for which the consumer will take possession of at some point in the future. Consumers are given the option at the point of sale to complete a current purchase by utilizing the prepayment for a number of units of goods and/or services that the consumer has previously completed. The prepayment is tracked in terms of the number of units of goods and/or services that have been purchased. The prepayment may be tracked in conjunction with a transactional account such as a credit card account and the consumer may utilize the account such as by swiping a credit card and an option is then provided to either utilize the cash availability of the account to make a purchase based on current pricing or utilize the pre-paid units to make the purchase without regard to current pricing.
Abstract:
One embodiment of the present is a method of using location history to optimize communications with perspective customers. Such a method comprises analyzing a user's location history over a period of time; detecting an indication of user interest in sellable items based on at least the location history; and sending a message to the user about a sellable item that is determined to be of interest to the user. Other methods and systems are also provided.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and computer program products provide an IP based device health check. The methods include initiating a health check to be performed at a customer location. The results of the health check are received and stored as an install state. A current state that was created in response to a diagnostic test executed at the customer location is received. The install state is compared to the current state to identify differences between the install state and the current state.
