Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for seamless handover of a User Equipment (UE) between base stations using dual connectivity. The UE receives an indication of a handover of the UE from a source Base Station (BS) to a target BS, wherein the source BS and the target BS are associated with the same Radio Access Technology (RAT). The UE allocates a portion of UE resources for initiating a handover procedure with the target BS, while maintaining connectivity with the source BS. The UE terminates connectivity with the source BS after completion of the handover procedure, wherein the UE is connected to both the source BS and the target BS during at least a portion of the handover procedure.
Abstract:
Neutral host networks may offer one or more different services via one or more different service providers, but user equipment (UE) may not necessarily know which services/service providers are offered by the neutral host networks. Accordingly, nodes of the neutral host networks (e.g., an access point, such as an evolved Node B (eNB)) may transmit service discovery information (SDI) to advertise the one or more services or service providers offered by the node and/or the neutral host network. Thus, a UE can receive the SDI via broadcast by the node, dedicated message from the node, etc., and can accordingly present at least a portion of the SDI or determine whether to connect to the node or another node of the neutral host network based at least in part on the SDI.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to joint support for UEs capable of communicating data of a same bearer on first and second RATs simultaneously and UEs not capable of communicating data of a same bearer on the first and second RATs simultaneously. An eNB of a first RAT may configure radio bearers of different types for communication with a UE scapable of communicating via a first RAT and a second RAT. The eNB may select one or more of the radio bearers for routing packets to the UE via at least one of the first or second RAT, wherein the selecting is based at least in part on whether the UE is capable of communicating data of a same bearer on the first and second RATs simultaneously. The eNB may communicate with the UE using the selected radio bearers.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for routing data bearers of a user equipment (UE) while the UE is handing over or associating to a base station (BS) of a first radio access technology (RAT) while being served by a BS of a second RAT are disclosed. An Xw interface that is used to control offloading and routing of data bearers between base stations of disparate RATs is disclosed. Call flows illustrating the use of the Xw interface and apparatus using the Xw interface are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Aspects relate to an allocation of periodic resources where use of the periodic resources is conditional. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) receives a periodic resource allocation along with an indication of a condition for using the periodic resources. For example, the UE may be allowed to transmit on at least one first resource of the periodic resources if the condition is true. Similarly, a base station (BS) may monitor for a transmission by the UE on the at least one first resource if the condition is true.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information that configures a paging early indication (PEI) communication, the PEI communication including at least one of a public warning system field, a primary system information (SI) change indication field, a secondary SI change indication field, or a paging physical downlink shared channel indication field. The UE may receive the PEI communication based at least in part on the configuration information. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for handling RRC segmentation during a handover procedure. According to certain aspects, a UE may transmit, to a source base station prior to a handover of the UE to a target base station, one or more first segments of a radio resource control (RRC) message; and transmit, to the target base station after the handover, one or more second segments of the RRC message.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to methods and apparatus for performing minimization of drive test (MDT) operations. For example, certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication. The method generally includes receiving, at a radio access network (RAN), a measurement configuration to start a trace of a user-equipment (UE), determining a transition of the UE to an inactive state, and sending one or more messages to coordinate the trace of the UE or indicate that the trace has failed in response to the determination
Abstract:
Aspects present herein relate to methods and devices for wireless communication including an apparatus, e.g., a UE and/or a base station. The apparatus may receive, from a base station, a logged measurement configuration including a PLMN ID and a NID, the logged measurement configuration further including at least one of a trace reference, a logging area, a MDT PLMN list, or a MDT NPN list. The apparatus may also store the PLMN ID and the NID based on the received logged measurement configuration. Additionally, the apparatus may compare the PLMN ID and the NID to an MDT SNPN list to identify if the PLMN ID and the NID are included in the MDT SNPN list. The apparatus may also transmit, to the base station, an availability indicator if the PLMN ID and the NID are included in the MDT SNPN list.
Abstract:
A method of wireless communication by an integrated access and backhaul network (IAB) donor transmits a configuration message on a source path to a first IAB node via a first distributed unit of the IAB donor. The method also instructs the first IAB node to delay delivery of the configuration message to a second node. The method migrates at least part of communications to the first IAB node from the source path to a target path via a second distributed unit. Another method of wireless communication is executed by a first integrated access and backhaul network (IAB) node. The method receives a first configuration message over a source path to a first IAB donor via a first distributed unit of the first IAB donor. The method also delays delivery of the first configuration message to a second node until a trigger occurs.
