Abstract: Apparatus that sends uplink control information (UCI) from user equipment (UE) to a network node, generates elements of the UCI including at least one of hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback for one or more uplink (UL) resources, a scheduling request (SR), a channel state information (CSI) report and a beam related information report in response to a trigger set by the network node. The apparatus encodes the UCI elements for transmission via a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) of the one or more UL resources. The one or more UL resources may be UL slots or UL portions of downlink-uplink (DL-UL) slots received from a network node.

Abstract: An apparatus of a wireless communication device operable to communicate channel state information in a wireless network can include memory and processing circuitry coupled to the memory. The processing circuitry is arranged to derive one or more principal eigen beams from received Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) signals, the one or more principal eigen beams having a rank greater than or equal to one. Quantized eigen beams may be derived from the one or more principal eigen beams. A bit pattern of the quantized eigen beams and at least one of a wideband channel quality indicator (CQI) or a subband CQI may be conditioned on the quantized eigen beams. Channel State Information Reference Signal (CSI-RS) may be encoded with the conditioned bit pattern for transmission to an Evolved Node-B (eNB) in the wireless network.

Abstract: An enhanced Node B (eNB) for precoding is generally described. In some embodiments, a first precoding-matrix indicator (PMI) and a second PMI is received on an uplink channel from user equipment (UE). Symbols for multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) beamforming may be precoded by the eNB using a precoder matrix recommended by the first and second PMIs, for a MIMO downlink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission. The first PMI and the second PMI are calculated by selecting a representative codeword that is indexed by i1 and i2 for a plurality of 2TX constituent beams, the 2TX constituent beam that provides the best system evaluation metric. The i1 index for wideband and the i2 index for each subband are identified from the defined 2TX constituent beam.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are apparatuses, systems, and methods using or implementing dynamic beamforming in control channels, by transmitting downlink control channels to user equipment (UEs) in a number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols of a downlink subframe. A first OFDM symbol of the number of OFDM symbols can be transmitted using first beamforming parameters in a first direction, and a second OFDM symbol of the number of OFDM symbols can be transmitted using second beamforming parameters different from the first beamforming parameters and in a second direction different from the first direction. The number of OFDM symbols used, as well as other parameters, can be dynamically adjusted in subsequent subframes. Other embodiments are described.

An acknowledgement resource offset field transmitted in the EPDCCH is configured to correspond to one or more values that compress the region in PUCCH resource index space that would otherwise be reserved for the subframes of a bundling window.

Abstract: In one example, a user equipment capable to establish a communication connection with a network entity, the user equipment comprising processing circuitry to receive, from a network entity, a primary synchronization signal (xPSS) and a beamforming reference signal (xBRS) transmitted using beamforming sweeping, identify at least one suitable transmission beamforming pattern from the network entity, transmit, to the network entity, an identifier associated with the at least one suitable beamforming pattern for a downlink signal, transmit, to the network entity, an uplink transmission of the physical random access channel (PRACH) transmitted using beamforming sweeping, receive, from the user equipment, a signal comprising an identifier associated with the at least one suitable beamforming pattern in the uplink transmission, and use the at least one suitable beamforming pattern in subsequent communication with the network equipment. Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and computer readable media for signaling high efficiency short training field are disclosed. A high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) station is disclosed. The HEW station may comprise circuitry configured to: receive a trigger frame comprising an allocation of a resource block for the HEW station, and transmit a high efficiency short training field (HE-STF) with a same bandwidth as a subsequent data portion, wherein the transmit is to be in accordance with orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) and wherein the transmit is within the resource block. A subcarrier allocation for the HE-STF may match a subcarrier allocation for the subsequent data portion. The HE-STF and the subsequent data portion may be transmitted with a same power. A total power of active subcarriers of the HE-STF may be equal to or proportional to a second total of data subcarriers and pilot subcarriers of the subsequent data portion.
