Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receive information, via radio resource control (RRC) signaling, regarding a search space of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) for obtaining downlink control information (DCI) from a radio access network (RAN) node. Based on a slot format (SF) index in the DCI, the UE may determine a slot format for communicating with the RAN node, and communicate with the RAN node in accordance with the slot format. Additionally, a UE may communicate UE capability information, which may include a maximum number of blind decode attempts (BDAs), to the RAN node. The UE may determine shortened channel control elements (sCCEs) to be used, by the RAN node, to transmit shortened downlink control information (sDCI) via a shortened physical downlink control channel (sPDCCH), obtain sDCI by monitoring the sPDCCH in accordance with the determined sCCEs, and communicate with the RAN node in accordance with the sDCI.

Abstract: Apparatuses of wireless communication devices are disclosed. An apparatus of a user equipment includes one or more processors configured to start a first timer responsive to detection of a Radio Link (RL) failure, start a second timer and trigger a beam recovery procedure one or more times responsive to expiry of the first timer if RL recovery is not detected, and start a third timer and attempt to find a suitable cell for Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection reestablishment responsive to one or more expiries of the second timer if RL recovery fails. The one or more processors are also configured to go to an RRC idle or inactive state responsive to expiry of the third timer if a suitable cell for RRC connection reestablishment is not found.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure describe apparatuses, methods and machine-readable storage medium for Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) measurement and allocation of Downlink (DL) transmission resources. A user equipment (UE) may detect a first Synchronization Signal/Physical Broadcast Channel (SS/PBCH) block, and determine a subcarrier spacing (SCS) thereof. Mapping the first SS/PBCH block to OFDM symbols may be dependent on the SCS and a first SS/PBCH block index of the first SS/PBCH block. The UE may determine, based on the first SS/PBCH block and the SCS, a number of symbols of the slot or the slot pair for a CORESET for reception of a DL control channel associated with Remaining Minimum System Information (RMSI). The UE may decode the DL control channel in the CORESET. The DL control channel may be configured to indicate a DL data channel carrying the RMSI associated with the first SS/PBCH block.

Abstract: Systems and methods of selecting a PRACH resource opportunity are described. One of multiple Synchronization Signal Blocks (SSBs) is received. Each SSB has PSSs, SSSs and a PBCH that contain system information. A RACH occasion (RO) is selected from among multiple ROs associated with the SSB. A PRACH is transmitted on resources of the RO. The ROs are configured in a TDM and/or FDM manner. The RO is selected randomly or, if TDM is used, an earliest of the ROs from a UE-initiated RACH transmission in a previous period. A preamble of the RO is selected randomly with equal probability.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to determine a transport block size (TBS) is disclosed. The UE can determine a number of assigned resource elements (REs) in one or more symbols for a transport block. The UE can determine a reference number of REs per physical resource block (PRB) in the transport block based on a reference number of REs for the transport block corresponding to each PRB and an assigned number of PRBs for the transport block. The UE can determine a TBS for the transport block based at least on the reference number of REs per PRB in the transport block. Abstract: Beamforming measurement techniques based on PSS/SSS are disclosed. An apparatus of a user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode a configuration message from a source serving cell, the configuration message indicating signal selection criteria for cell measurement reporting. A synchronization signal (SS) burst set associated with one or more transmission/reception points (TRPs) within a neighboring cell is decoded, the SS burst set including a plurality of SS blocks. A cell beamforming measurement signal associated with the neighboring cell is generated, based on signal measurements of the SS blocks and the signal selection criteria. A radio resource management (RRM) measurement report message is encoded for transmission to the serving cell, the measurement report message including the cell beamforming measurement signal. A handover command message for initiating a handover to the neighboring cell is decoded, the handover command based on the cell beamforming measurement signal.
