Abstract:
A cellular network comprising one or more user transceiver stations located within a first coverage area and that are each configured to provide radio coverage over a corresponding second coverage area by exploiting a selected frequency band among a respective set of frequency bands. When a user equipment within one first coverage area of requests to exchange user traffic, the cellular network selects a group of candidate user transceiver stations located within the first coverage area based on the position of the user equipment within the first coverage area; select a group of candidate frequency bands among sets of frequency bands of the user transceiver stations located within said one first coverage area; and allow the user equipment to exchange user traffic with one or more selected user transceiver stations exploiting a selected frequency band.
Abstract:
A method is proposed for scheduling, in a radio mobile network, serving cell/radio resource allocation pairs for transmission of data flows using Carrier Aggregation. Each serving cell/radio resource allocation pair includes a serving cell and a radio resource thereof allocated for transmission of data flows using Carrier Aggregation. At each scheduling period the method determines active data flows whose transmission is not yet completed at the current scheduling period, and performs a series of steps for each active data flow.
Abstract:
A combinational service is made enjoyable on the terminal of a user of a communication network in a simplified way. The user establishes a call on the circuit domain, and on his/her terminal, menu options are made available related to the enjoyment of the combinational service in consequence of the establishment of such call on the circuit domain.
Abstract:
A method arranges, in a mobile communication network, data transmission between user equipment and at least one base station including a central unit and at least one remote unit associated therewith. The data includes information data and control data from the central unit to the remote unit, or vice versa. The method includes allocating radio resources for the data to/from the remote unit, grouping the allocated radio resources, each group including at least one radio resource allocated for data to/from a respective remote unit, including in each group data indicating an association of the allocated radio resource of that group with the respective remote unit, including in each group allocation data indicating the allocated radio resources, among the at least one allocated radio resource, that have been allocated for the information data, and transmitting the groups in the frequency-domain between the central unit and the at least one remote unit
Abstract:
A method for managing personal data of a user of a user device is provided. The user device is adapted to have installed thereon an application (APP). The APP is configured to require access to the personal data when running on the user device. The method comprises creating a certification for the APP, the certification being based on a corresponding statement providing information regarding the relationship between the APP and personal data; associating the certification to the APP for certifying the APP; allowing the user to provide user-defined policies about exploiting the user personal data; checking whether the user-defined policies provided by the user are compatible with requirements of the APP defined in the corresponding statement. If the user-defined policies are compatible with the requirements of the APP defined in the statement, the method executes operations when the APP running on the user device requires to access personal data.
Abstract:
A method of establishing connections between at least a first and a second terminal on a communication network includes: sending to the second terminal a network signal requesting the network availability to establish the connection and a terminal signal requesting the availability of the second terminal to run an application exchanging data between the first and second terminals; receiving at the second terminal the network signal and the terminal signal; and sending on the network a response signal carrying information based on the network and terminal signals and assuming a content corresponding to the availability/unavailability of the network to establish the connection combined the availability/unavailability of the second terminal to run the application.
Abstract:
It is disclosed a method for associating a new node with a wireless personal area communication network, said communication network comprising a number of nodes. The method comprises: providing, among the nodes of the communication network, a configuration node; operating the configuration node to allow association of the new node with the network; operating the other nodes to disallow association of the new node with the network; and at the configuration node, upon reception of a request from the new node to join the network, sending to the new node a network key at a reduced transmit power.
Abstract:
A method for processing an image, including: identifying a group of keypoints in the image; for each keypoint, calculating a corresponding descriptor array including plural array elements, each array element storing values taken by a corresponding color gradient histogram of a respective sub-region of the image in the neighborhood of the keypoint; for each keypoint, subdividing the descriptor array in at least two sub-arrays each including a respective number of elements of the descriptor array, and generating a compressed descriptor array including a corresponding compressed sub-array for each of the at least two sub-arrays, each compressed sub-array obtained by compressing the corresponding sub-array by vector quantization using a respective codebook; exploiting the compressed descriptor arrays of the keypoints for image analysis. For each keypoint of the group, the subdividing is based on correlation relationships among color gradient histograms with values stored in the elements of the descriptor array of each keypoint.

Abstract:
A method upgrading a core section of a packet switched mobile network, includes: a) collecting information about a maximum signaling transaction amount managed by nodes of the core section with respect to active data connection established between user equipment and the packet switched mobile network, and calculating a corresponding active users parameter based on the collected information; b) retrieving an indication of how the maximum signaling transaction amount managed by the nodes is distributed among user equipment attached to the packet switched mobile network, and calculating a corresponding activity parameter based on the retrieved indication; c) calculating a forecasted number of user equipment which potentially can attach to the network in a future predetermined period; d) calculating a signaling traffic estimation based on the active users parameter, the activity parameter, and the forecasted number of user equipment, e) setting up the core section based on the calculated signaling traffic estimation.
