Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing hybrid draw poker games to online players, poker hands comprise both physical card values dealt by a dealer and electronically-generated card values from the gaming server. The gaming server receives an indication from each of the remote players of how many hands each player would like to play, and a wager amount for each hand. Electronic indications of an initial set of physical cards dealt by the dealer are then provided to the online players. In response, each player provides an indication of card values that each player would like to retain and/or an indication of card values that each player would like to discard. The gaming server assigns the retained card values selected by each player to each player's respective hands, and then generates electronic replacement card values for each hand of each player. The gaming server then performs a win/lose analysis for each hand.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for executing video games by a gaming computer and enabling remote play. In example, a method includes receiving a command from a first player via a first client and a computing network. The method updates a game state of a video game based on the command received from the first player and receiving a first point of view of the first player via the computing network. The method communicates at least part of the game state to a first image generator executed by the gaming computer and sends via the computing network to the first client a first image based on the game state and the first point of view using the first image generator. The first image is configured for rendering by the first client. The first image is a video image of a plurality of video images presented to the first client, which is accessing the gaming computer for remote play.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for porting locally processed media data with low latency to a remote client device via various wireless links are provided. In one example embodiment, a transceiver module may include a local network interface and a controller that may receive a client control signal from a client device over a wireless local area network via the local network interface, transmit a media control signal based on the client control signal to a media device, receive media data based on the media control signal from the media device, and transmit to the client device over the wireless local area network via the local network interface client data based on the media data and a low-latency compression technique. The receipt of the media data and transmission of the client data may be accomplished with substantially no detectable latency. Additional embodiments are also provided.

Abstract: The virtual location of a player in a location-based game is determined from the real-world location of the player's client device. The location-based game provides the player access to one or more chat room based on their location. To determine the locations of chat room, a server analyzes player locations in a geographic region, clusters player locations to identify centroids, and adjusts the clusters based on constraints. The server selects chat room locations (e.g., at points of interest) to more evenly balance the number of players in each chat room while complying with one or more restraints on the size of the geographic area served by each chat room.
