Abstract:
In a starter motor equipped with a shock absorbing device, a disk spring is placed between a bottom part of a cylindrical casing and one side of a disk stack structure composed of rotatable disks and fixed disks which are alternately stacked. Caulking parts formed at an opening end of the cylindrical casing are bent toward the inner diameter side of the cylindrical casing in order to push the disk spring toward the bottom part side of the cylindrical casing through the disk stack structure. The disk spring accumulates reaction force (or elastic force) by the caulking. The reaction force accumulated in the disk spring pushes the disk stack structure to the axial direction of the cylindrical casing. The structure of the shock absorbing device can supply a uniform load to the disk spring, and provides a stable shock absorbing capability.

Abstract:
A starter system is provided for an engine having a stop-start capability. The starter system includes a first gear coupled to the engine, wherein the first gear rotates at a speed of the engine. The starter system also includes a starter arranged relative to the engine. The starter includes a second gear arranged to selectively mesh with and apply torque to the first gear in order to start the engine, such that the second gear is capable of rotating at the speed of the engine. The starter additionally includes a synchronizer arranged to substantially match the speed of the first gear with the speed of the engine prior to engagement of the first and second gears, such that the second gear is enabled to mesh with and apply torque to the first gear to thereby start the engine. The starter system and the engine may be employed in a vehicle.
Abstract:
The present invention is aimed at the technical field of starter systems in general, more specifically to a starter unit (1) for permanently engaged/coupled internal combustion engines. The starter unit (1) essentially comprises an electric motor (2), a speed reduction system with planetary gears (3) and a flywheel and torque transmission system with splines (4).
Abstract:
A starter is provided, which includes an intermediate gear connected to an intermediate shaft, and engaging with and driven by a pinion gear which is connected to an output shaft of a motor. The intermediate gear engages with a ring gear of an engine to crank up the engine when shifted together with the pinion gear in axial directions of these shafts via a retainer which is slidably supported by both of these shafts. A clutch supported by the shaft of the motor causes this shift by pushing the retainer in its axial direction. The clutch and the intermediate gear, each being defined by its outermost diameter, overlap with each other in the radial direction between these shafts. This overlap reduces stress acting on the retainer when the intermediate gear engages with the ring gear, thus reducing thickness of the retainer and the axial length of the starter.
Abstract:
The current invention is a torque transmission and free-wheel system using blades for start-propellers which is in the technical field of general start-propellers, more specifically a transmission and free-wheel system using blades for start-propellers, whose objective is a torque transmission model and free-wheel based on the use of blades (1), with application in torque transmission for engines and similar devices, aiming at reducing manufacturing costs, improving performance, reducing noise levels and increasing the equipment's useful life.
Abstract:
A starter and a method of manufacturing the starter are disclosed wherein the starter comprises a case, a housing disposed in front of the case, a pinion moving body slidably received by the case and the housing, and a lever unit having a lever, swingably supported on a lever support member, for actuating the pinion moving body to an operative position to allow a pinion to be brought into meshing engagement with a ring gear of an engine to start up the same. The lever support member is mounted on the case via a positioning mechanism composed of positioning components, formed on the lever support member, and the positioning components, formed on the case, with which the positioning components engage, respectively.
Abstract:
A gas turbine engine is provided that includes a gearbox operable to selectively couple a relatively high pressure spool shaft to a relatively low pressure spool shaft. In one form the gearbox includes a cone clutch that engages a male member of the cone clutch to a female member of the cone clutch during an engine start of the gas turbine engine. A relatively high pressure of a working fluid can be used to bring the male member and the female member together. A spring can also be used to urge the male member and the female member apart when the working fluid is at a relatively low pressure.
Abstract:
The present invention refers to the technical field of starter plates in general, more specifically a starter plate with a friction free wheel system by rollers, which is applied to internal combustion engines of motorcycles or vehicles making use of a similar starter motor with the purpose to improve performance, increase durability, reduce the final price of the product and simplify manufacturing and assembly processes. The assembly preserves the locking feature under high torque in one direction (joined element by the input torque of the driver element) and, after starting, it allows free turning of the joined element in the opposite direction, which then has higher rotation than the driver element.
