摘要: The present application provides an alternative fuel fast start system for a gas turbine engine with a combustor and a compressor. The alternative fuel fast start system may include an alternative liquid fuel, a thermal energy storage tank, and a vaporizer. The alternative liquid fuel is stored in the thermal energy storage tank under pressure such that releasing the alternative liquid fuel from the thermal energy storage tank vaporizes the alternative fuel. Upon start-up of the gas turbine engine, the thermal energy storage tank supplies the vaporized alternative fuel to the combustor until the vaporizer is operational. The alternative liquid fuel may be propane, ethanol, or methanol.

摘要: A variable frequency starter generator (VFSG) system includes a VFSG having a start mode and a generate mode, a permanent magnet generator (PMG) and a main generator section and an exciter section. The system also includes a controller electrically connected to the VFSG. The controller flow start mode three phase electrical power from aircraft power to the exciter of the VFSG in the start mode and flows single phase electrical power to the exciter of the VFSG in the generate mode. The controller includes: an input active rectifier that receives input AC power and converts it to DC power and provides it to across a positive rail and negative rail; an output inverter coupled to an output of the input active rectifier; and one or more line inductors connected along one or both of the positive rail and negative rail between the input active rectifier and the output inverter.

The method further comprises determining a predicted degradation profile for the gas turbine engine and/or the starting system based on the condition information; determining a starting procedure of the gas turbine engine by adapting the baseline starting procedure based on the predicted degradation profile; and controlling the gas turbine engine and/or the starting system according to the determined starting procedure.

摘要: A method for controlling a fan in a fan start-up stage including a first time period and a second time period comprises the following steps of: during the first time period, continuously providing a first driving signal to drive the fan; and during the second time period, continuously providing a second driving signal to drive the fan; wherein, the signal value of the first driving signal gradually decreases until being equal to the signal value of the second driving signal. Wherein the signal value of the first driving signal non-linearly decreases, the signal value of the second driving signal is an unchanged value. Wherein, the first time period and the second time period are adjusted for a different fan but the sum of the first time period and the second time period is always the same. A fan is also disclosed.
