摘要: A closed loop geothermal heat exchange system for providing energy efficient cooling during the warmer seasons and baseline heating during the colder season that in one preferred embodiment is comprised of a heat exchanger unit, a circulating pump and a connection to a community water supply by means of upstream and down stream piping. The up stream supply pipe is connected to the community water supply on the system side of the water metering device. Water would flow from the supply side connection by means of water main system pressure to the input side of a heat exchanger through a turbulence-inducing fixture or fixtures that would increase the thermal transfer between the heat exchanger and the water. The output side of the exchanger is connected to the input side of a small booster pump, which supplies additional pressure to the return pipe which may also be configured into a venturi to assist the return water flow and is connected to community water system downstream from the supply connection.

摘要: Methods for harnessing a heat source to produce energy are provided. One method comprises transferring heat from the heat source to a working fluid using at least one heat pipe; and performing work via the heated working fluid. Another method comprises operating a thermodynamic cycle to convert heat into work, comprising displacing a working fluid within a closed loop, said closed loop being defined by a first pathway within a working chamber, and a return pathway external to the return chamber; wherein displacement of the working fluid along the first pathway causes sympathetic displaced of a movable member held captive in the working chamber, and displacement of the working fluid along the external pathway is under influence of capillary forces; and transferring heat to the working fluid using at least one first heat pipe. Components and systems for implementing the methods are also provided.

摘要: In a domestic energy supply system, the thermal energy of the temperature difference between at least one heat source and at least one heat sink is converted into work by way of a thermal engine. The thermal engine has a fluid cycle with at least two reservoirs, which, in each case as a condenser to be cooled or an evaporator to be heated, are thermally coupled to the heat source or the heat sink. A working temperature difference between the reservoirs of approximately 10° to 200° C. is set at a working temperature of 30° to 280° C. The thermal engine has a hybrid motor in the form of a combination of a pressure media motor and an internal combustion engine, in which firstly a pressure difference of the fluid as a result of the working temperature difference is used for driving purposes and secondly fuel is combusted and converted into work. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for controlling such a system.
