Abstract:
Plug having common specifications are arranged on the side surfaces of each of the devices of different types included in the drive apparatus that controls an electric motor, and the plugs are positioned such that the side surfaces of the devices are in close contact with each other by connecting the plugs and the devices of different types are integrated.
Abstract:
Embodiments provide tripping unit of a circuit breaker. The tripping unit includes a magnet, a bimetal member extending alongside of the magnet, and an armature pivotable on the magnet, wherein the armature having an engagement portion engageable with the bimetal member at a moveable end of the bimetal member. Circuit breakers including triggering mechanisms and tripping units are also disclosed, as are low-profile, electronic circuit breakers including a maximum transverse width (Wt) limited to occupy only a single standard breaker panelboard location. System and methods are provided, as are other aspects.
Abstract:
A modular relay sub-assembly is provided. The modular relay sub-assembly can include a first housing portion, a second housing portion, a conductor having a first contact, and a split conductor. The second housing portion may be attached to a surface of the first housing portion. The conductor may be disposed inside a cavity formed by the two housing portions. The first contact may be accessible through a first opening in the first housing portion. The split conductor may include a first portion, a second portion, and a contact. The split conductor being disposed inside the cavity formed by the first and second housing portions. The second portion may be disposed at a position electrically isolated from the first portion. The contact of the split conductor can be accessible through a second opening in the first housing portion. The split conductor can be positioned to selectively contact the conductor.
Abstract:
A mounting plate is disclosed for supporting a circuit breaker accessory part. In an embodiment, the mounting plate includes a holding device, configured to hold the mounting plate on a wall of a housing of a circuit breaker and a fastening device, configured to fasten the circuit breaker accessory part to the mounting plate.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are various embodiments of electrical test switches. According to one embodiment, a test switch may include a switch lever, a test port configured to directly couple to a standard connector, a relay port, a field port, and an insulated frame configured to electrically insulate at least some electrically conductive portions of the test port, the relay connector, and the field connector from contact by a user. A user may actuate the switch lever in order to reconfigure the electrical test switch from a first configuration to a second configuration. In the first configuration, the test port contact is electrically isolated from the relay connector and the field connector is electrically connected to the relay connector. In the second configuration, the test port contact is electrically connected to the relay connector and the relay connector is electrically isolated from the field connector.
Abstract:
Apparatus and systems and methods are described herein that provide a controlled circuit breaker that selectively interrupts a flow current associated with a first electrical phase and an uncontrolled circuit breaker that selectively interrupts current associated with a second electrical phase. The controlled circuit breaker and uncontrolled circuit breaker are coupled to one another and configured to be installed in adjacent slots in a circuit breaker panel.
Abstract:
A multi-pole handle lock having a base plate and movable locking plate assembly that is adapted to mount on to at least two circuit breakers. A handle restrictor plate is mounted on the base plate for translational movement while maintaining the circuit breaker handles in the same position as each other. The handle restrictor plate allows each handle to independently move to the tripped position, while allowing the restricted circuit breakers to operate as a logical group. The low profile of the plates, allows visual inspection of the handle ends to determine their tie status.
Abstract:
An arrangement including at least two separate switch pole housings and a joining facility for joining the switch pole housings. Each of the switch pole housings forms an insulating enclosure of a switching space for receiving a single switch pole of an electric switching device. A side wall of a first switch pole housing, facing a second one of the switch pole housings, includes at least one recess for receiving at least one joining device of the joining facility. The at least one recess forms a first undercut with respect to a side wall and a first locating surface in parallel with a front wall of the housing. The at least one joining device engages behind the first undercut and is braced against a first locating surface.
Abstract:
A circuit breaker includes a main case; a switching mechanism accommodated in the main case, and having a mechanical part for opening and closing a circuit; a trip mechanism configured to trigger the switching mechanism to a circuit interrupting position upon detection of an abnormal current on a circuit; and an external device detachably mounted to the main case, wherein the circuit breaker includes an interrupting means configured to interrupt the switching mechanism by contacting at least a part of the external device when the external device is mounted to the main case.
Abstract:
One or more infrared transmitting ports are placed in the insulating housing of standard switchgear components to allow far infrared viewing of internal conductive components permitting earlier and more precise location of possible thermal failure through thermographic monitoring.
