    摘要: A machining unit for a program-controlled machine tool having a measuring and monitoring device for monitoring the position and condition of a tool shaft in the tool holder. This measuring and monitoring device includes a plurality of axial sensors and radial sensors and an evaluating unit for the measurement results detected by the sensors. An outer ring is releasably fastened to the spindle housing and contains an electronic transmission element and terminals for energy and data cables. A rotor is assigned to this stationary outer ring and contains the sensors and is coupled to the outer ring for the non-contact data transmission. The rotor is releasably fastened to the front end face of the spindle by bolted connections.

The first fastening portion is fixed to a working bench and the second fastening portion is fixed to the screw nut, so the torque sensor can sense how much the torque is while the screw out is driving a working bench to move. In light of this structure, monitoring the voltage value outputted by the torque sensor can sense the torque generated while the working screw rod is working.

    摘要: Systems and methods for monitoring cutting forces in a peripheral end milling process are disclosed. The systems and methods comprise a sensor module that integrates a thin-film Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) piezoelectric strain sensor and an in situ data logging platform for monitoring such cutting forces. The module, which may be mounted on the tool shank, measures the dynamic strain(s) produced in the tool and logs the data into an on-board card for later retrieval. The close proximity between the signal source and the PVDF sensor(s) minimizes the attenuation and distortion of the signal along the transmitting path and provides high-fidelity signals. Further, the module facilitates the employment of a first-principles model based on Euler-Bernoulli beam theory and the constitutive equations of the piezoelectric sensor material to relate the in situ-measured PVDF sensor signals to the feed and transverse forces acting on the tool.

    摘要: An arrangement for controlling the process of rotary chip removing machining of a work piece includes a monitoring system for monitoring the rotary chip removing machining. The monitoring system has at least one surface acoustic wave sensor and at least one first antenna mounted to a cutting tool. At least one second antenna is arranged for wireless communication with the second antenna. Each sensor detects at least one parameter of a group of parameters consisting of strain, temperature and pressure. The sensor and the first antenna transmit the detected at least one parameter to the second antenna in response to an interrogation signal received by the first antenna. A processing unit is connected to the second antenna and transmits the interrogation signal and transmission energy to the first antenna and to the sensor via the second antenna. A control system communicates with the monitoring system to control the machining of the work piece at least partially based on the detected parameter. A cutting tool is provided with the at least one sensor and the at least one first antenna.
