    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first message activating a plurality of transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states for the UE for uplink communications. The UE may receive a second message that indicates, for uplink communications by the UE, a first TCI state of the plurality of TCI states and that indicates an activation of an uplink beam selection procedure for autonomous selection of an uplink beam by the UE, and may transmit an uplink message using a second TCI state different from the first TCI state, the second TCI state selected by the UE based on the uplink beam selection procedure. In some examples, the UE transmit a request for the activation of the uplink beam selection procedure by the UE.

    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless positioning. In an aspect, a road-side unit (RSU) may join a first sidelink (SL) ranging session between a first user equipment (UE) and a second UE. The RSU may perform SL ranging with the first UE to determine first ranging information comprising at least a RTT to the first UE. The RSU may perform SL ranging with the second UE to determine second ranging information comprising at least a RTT to the second UE. The RSU may send the first ranging information and the second ranging information to at least one of the first UE or the second UE, or calculate a range between the first UE and the second UE based on the first ranging information and the second ranging information, and send the range to at least one of the first UE and the second UE.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A receiver user equipment (UE) may communicate with a transmitter UE in a sidelink channel to report a congestion index to the transmitter UE and/or additional transmitter UEs, where the transmitter UE(s) may then adjust one or more sidelink operation parameters based on the reported congestion index. In some cases, the transmitter UE may report the congestion index to an upper layer, to other transmitter UEs, to application layers, or a combination thereof. The transmitter UEs 115 and/or application layer may then adjust one or more sidelink transmission operation parameters based on the reported congestion index. For example, the transmitter UEs and/or application layer may adjust threshold values to lessen a number of retransmissions and lessen congestion.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may receive control signaling indicating a configuration for reporting a set of beam angle measurement values between at least two beams relative to a respective beam of a set of beams and a phase difference measurement value between post-beamformed channel phases using the at least two beams of the set of beams. In some examples, the communication device may determine a set of reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement values associated with the at least two beams of the set of beams. The communication device may transmit a report including the set of beam angle measurement values and the phase difference measurement value based on receiving the control signaling indicating the configuration. For example, the communication device may report the RSRP measurement values associated with the at least two beams of the set of beams.
