Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource allocation. In certain aspects, a method for use by a user equipment (UE) for transmitting one or more uplink control information (UCI) bits in PUCCH includes determining resources allocated for providing one or more UCI bits based at least on a type of service associated with the UE and sending, to a base station, a PUCCH with the one or more UCI bits using the allocated resources.

Abstract: An apparatus may receive, from a scheduling entity, sidelink grant information in a downlink control channel. After receiving the grant information in the downlink control channel, the apparatus may transmit a request-to-send (RTS) signal comprising an indication of a requested duration of time to reserve a sidelink channel for sidelink data. If the sidelink channel is available for the requested duration of time, the apparatus may receive a clear-to-send (CTS) signal configured to indicate an availability of the sidelink channel for the requested duration of time. Subsequently, the apparatus may communicate, with another apparatus different from the scheduling entity, the sidelink data using the sidelink channel during the requested duration of time. Afterwards, the apparatus may communicate acknowledgment information corresponding to the communication of the sidelink signal with the other apparatus. Various additional and alternative aspects are described herein.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides for adaptive resource management in new radio operations that favors the usage of resources for pilot signals and channel estimation in the transition slots of a slot burst, and the transmission of data in the subsequent slots of the slot burst. A device such as a user equipment (UE) and/or a base station may determine that the UE is operating in a transition state. The device may adapt a first numerology including a first number of symbols per slot used for transmission in the transition slots during the transition state, to a second scaled numerology including a second number of symbols per slot used for transmission in the subsequent slots after the transition state. A ratio of reference signal symbols to data symbol symbols may be greater in the transition slots than in the subsequent slots.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to the reduction in a probability of collision for grant-less transmissions from internet of everything (IOE) devices while not increasing search complexity at a base station are disclosed. An IOE device randomly selects a first access resource from a common pool that the base station searches to initiate a transmission. If a metric associated with the data transmission is predicted to exceed a threshold, the IOE device also requests a second access resource from a reserved access pool from the base station, that the base station does not search. The IOE includes the request in the data transmission. The base station and the IOE device switch to the second access resource after the base station identifies an available resource from the reserved access pool and the IOE device completes the data transmission using the second access resource.

Abstract: A configurable new radio (NR) uplink (UL) transmission may use transmit diversity. A user equipment (UE) may identify an uplink transmission of at least one stream as using one of cyclic prefix orthogonal frequency division multiplexing or discrete Fourier transform spread orthogonal frequency division multiplexing. The UE may apply a precoding matrix to the at least one identified stream. The precoding matrix changes over time. The precoding matrix may change based on closed loop feedback, a precoding cycling pattern, and/or a code division multiplexing group. The UE may transmit the at least one identified stream from multiple antennas according to the applied precoding matrix.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe a guard band signal for communication on a guard band between a first frequency band utilized by a first radio access technology having a first sub-carrier spacing and a second frequency band utilized by a second radio access technology having a second sub-carrier spacing that is a multiple of the first sub-carrier spacing. The guard band signal includes a symbol that is repeated a number of times equal to the multiple. The guard band signal may be generated and transmitted by a transmitting device. The guard band signal may be received and decoded by a receiving device. The guard band signal is interpretable according to a first numerology of the first radio access technology and according to a second numerology of the second radio access technology.
