Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for wireless communications are disclosed. In one aspect, an apparatus for wireless communications includes a receiver configured to wirelessly receive a message comprising a time for the apparatus to wake up and instructions to execute an action in response to receiving a paging frame from a wireless communication device. The receiver is further configured to receive the paging frame from the wireless communication device. The apparatus further includes a processor configured to execute the action in response to receiving the paging frame. In one implementation, receiving the paging frame comprises comparing an address of the paging frame with an address of the apparatus. The action may include one or more of sending a power save poll frame, waiting for packet reception, receiving the beacon, and receiving the delivery traffic indication message beacon.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for communicating data in a wireless communications network are described herein. In some aspects, a wireless device includes a first receiver and a second receiver. The second receiver may be configured to consume less power than the first receiver. The second receiver receives a second signal wherein the second signal comprises a wake-up signal configured in NDP format including a signal field. The wireless device includes a circuit configured to take at least one action based on the second signal.

Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for communicating data in a wireless communications network are described herein. In some aspects, a first wireless device may request to transmit data during a transmission opportunity of a second wireless device. The request may also indicate a duration of time for which permission to transmit is requested. In some aspects, the second wireless device may send a response message to the first wireless device indicating the first wireless device has been granted permission to transmit during a transmission opportunity of the second wireless device. The response may include an indication of a period of time for which permission to transmit has been granted. In an embodiment, the response may include an indication of a period of time the first wireless device may delay or sleep before an opportunity to transmit during a transmission opportunity of the second wireless device will be available.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a technique for selecting modulation coding schemes (MCS). In some aspects, the MCS is selected based on a characteristic of an electronic device and the MCS of a transmitter. In some aspects, the MCS is selected based on a power imbalance between an access point and a user terminal.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for improving system throughput by reducing contention in a peer-to-peer (P2P) data link network. Specifically, the present disclosure provides a method of ordering data transmissions in a data transmission window based on an order of traffic announcement messages in a corresponding paging window. Moreover, a wireless station of the P2P data link network may reserve portions of a shared wireless medium for transmissions of other wireless stations belonging to the same P2P data link network and preventing transmission of out-of-network wireless stations.
Abstract:
This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices for paging message enhancement, for example, by allowing packets to accumulate in an access point before sending them to a station. In some implementations, a station may not have an immediate use for a packet waiting in an access point's buffer. The station may save energy and reduce medium occupancy by allowing packets to accumulate at the access point and then receiving the accumulated packets in accordance with certain criteria. Such criteria for accumulation may be based on a Quality of Service (QoS) category, the station address, or the station type. The station may set accumulation parameters, such as a maximum occupied buffer size or a maximum time for which a station's packets are delayed for accumulation.
Abstract:
A method includes in response to receiving a modified enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) parameter set IE at a station, determining a value of an EDCA parameter based on a delta value in the modified EDCA parameter set IE and based on a base value of the EDCA parameter.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for wireless communication are disclosed. In one aspect an access point includes a processor configured to generate a message which contains a frame control field containing an indication that the access point will ignore reception of packets from one or more wireless stations for a period of time. The access point also includes a transmitter, which is configured to transmit the message to one or more wireless stations associated with the access point.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for providing state updates in a mesh network are described herein. One innovative aspect of the present disclosure includes an apparatus communicatively coupled with a descendant node. The apparatus includes a processing system configured to generate a message identifying an address of the descendant node and information identifying a change in state of the descendant node or information identifying a capability of the descendant node.
