Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine, based at least in part on two or more measurements on a channel taken at different points in time, that the channel is classified as static. The wireless communication device may perform at least one optimization based at least in part on determining that the channel is classified as static. For example, the at least one optimization may include modifying a channel state feedback procedure, reducing a periodicity associated with a measurement gap, modifying a filtering associated with measurements of the channel, reducing a threshold associated with beam switching, and/or refraining from performing at least one filtering at a radio frequency receiver of the wireless communication device. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may update a noise estimation (e.g., a noise covariance matrix, a log likelihood ratio (LLR) scaling, or both) for communications with a serving base station to account for interference from a neighboring base station operating according to a different radio access technology (RAT). For example, the UE may identify a transmission status of a base station operating according to a first RAT, such as long term evolution (LTE), that shares a radio frequency spectrum with a serving base station operating according to a second RAT, such as new radio (NR). The UE may measure the interference from the LTE base station and may update a noise estimation according to the measured interference. The UE and the serving base station may communicate based on the updated noise estimation.

Abstract: The apparatus may be a UE. The UE may be configured to measure, over a time interval, a plurality of instances of a signal received from a serving device (e.g., a base station or serving UE). The UE may further be configured to adjust, based on at least two previously measured instances of the signal, a sampling rate associated with the signal received from the serving device. The UE may further be configured to maintain a particular number (e.g., 2-10) of previously measured instances of the signal, where adjusting the sampling rate is based on the maintained particular number of previously measured instances. The particular number of previously measured instances of the signal may be used to calculate a gradient of the measurements to identify a sampling rate associated with the calculated gradient.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a codebook type for transmitting hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback by the UE to a second device (e.g., a network device, a satellite, or a base station). The indication of the codebook type may indicate a HARQ feedback transmission configuration, such as a static HARQ feedback transmission configuration. The HARQ transmission configuration may be associated with a one bit or two bit HARQ codebook. The UE may receive a scheduled downlink shared channel transmission, and attempt to decode the received downlink shared channel transmission. The UE may transmit (or refrain from transmitting) the HARQ feedback based on the decoding of the scheduled downlink shared channel transmission and in accordance with the feedback mode.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a user equipment (UE) configured to schedule resource management procedures including measurements and tracking loop procedures. In some examples, the UE includes at least one antenna pair and two or more receivers. The UE may be configured to determine a plurality of combinations of antenna pairs and component carriers, where each component carrier is associated with a particular frequency. The UE may further be configured to schedule measurements/tracking loop procedures to available receivers first and utilize a selection algorithm to select combinations of antenna pairs and component carriers and map the selected combinations to the remaining of the available receivers to perform tracking loop procedures. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Techniques are discussed herein identify transmission strategies and to communicate those identified transmission strategies in a transparent communication environment. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may identify a new transmission strategy for a downlink channel different from a current transmission strategy for the down link channel. The UE may transmit a channel state information (CSI) message that includes an indication of the new transmission strategy identified by the UE. In some examples, a base station may identify the new transmission strategy for the downlink channel. The base station may transmit a codebook subset restriction (CSR) indicator that includes an indication of the new transmission strategy identified by the base station. In some examples, the UE may modify its feedback strategy based on the new transmission strategy.
